Maybe my point is being missed, a pint there of their own brew is pricey but I can live with it. I am not used to going over a tenner for two drinks in Stafford. That's fine that everyone else is, I am not so please, I accept that a pint of beer can be above 3.50.
Irrelevant, as I have no intention of visiting a pub this month. We'll see the state of play next month.Yesterday Slater's Bar had their “1995 (25 Years)” anniversary beer on handpump. It’s an 8% Double IPA. Might still be on.

I had a couple of proper days out in Buxton last year with a few other pubmen and thought the Swan to be the best pub.Beyond the usual pub/ ale offer I general find the charge is pay more than a tenner or more in most places, stone, leek, stafford, less in buxton but the options are poor in the town centre there. This is particularly the case if one buys spirts in a decent establishment.
Use it or lose it scenario, whenever I went past it was always really quiet. From the fb page
It’s with sadness that we have taken the decision, under the current financial climate, to close the bar with immediate effect. . We would like to thank all of our customers and staff who have supported us over the last 5 years. Please note this doesn’t affect the brewery.
