Stafford and Rural homes

Hi all, so i reported a tile that fell of my roof in January this year and i also reported a 6" hole coming through from when they fitted the kitchen you can literally see outside through this hole under the sink i reported this the same time i reported the tile, i was told the crew that does this type of work were out of my area but would be back in the area between March and May and guess what i have rang several times through the year and i am still waiting.
The front door latch fell off around four months ago and we could not close the front door, on this occasion they came within the hour but didn't have the correct part to repair the door, so they botched it with another part stating it would last for a few weeks and they would order the correct part, this again was months ago and i again i am still waiting, now the front door is having to be locked because it doesn't matter how you close it there is a 50% chance it will blow open.
A few years ago we had a new bath fitted they guy who did it fitted the wrong sized pipe and it was taking around 45 minuets to run a bath, when they came to fix it the bath had been no more nailed into place it took the guy all day to sort it out.
Has anyone else got any stories about Stafford and Rural homes? maybe if this post gets populated next time they issue there magazine with the bloated statistics this post can be emailed to them :)

We left because we couldn't take it anymore. The plaster was falling off the walls, the toilet leaked constantly because they didn't want to fix it properly because the pipe was asbestos and they would have to rehome us while the work was being done. The entrance for the loft was only big enough to fit a child through but i was told they wouldn't enlarge it and refused me permission to have it enlarged stating acess to my loft wasn't necessary. They badgered me constantly because my house wasn't the way the woman liked it, she couldn't stand the fact that i had things on the window sills, had my internet router on the landing and didn't want certain doors using as it gave my kids unlimited access to the kitchen, which during cooking was dangerous. Didn't like my stairgates, my dog, me. I was ordered to remove the router but when challenged about it they backed down because they couldn't give a reason why they didn't want it there. They did nothing when my neighbours attacked us even though they were SARHA tennants but we had rubbish waiting to go to the tip, they knew we had to wait for help with that, and made a huge fuss and hasseled us some more.
My in laws were also tennants with them, they got on great while they were living in a 3 bed home, but when they decided to down size it all went wrong. At first the housing fell over backwards to help them move, let them have the keys early to the new flat, assured them the house was immaculate during the final inspection offered all kinds of things. Soon as they had the keys to the house it all changed. They tried to bill them for non standard fittings, which they had previously told them were ok and could easily have been changed before the move. Removed the flooring in the new flat after telling them they were leaving it in for them. A week after they moved in water started pouring down the bedroom walls, first they fobbed them off with it's your neighbour spilling things (it was like a waterfall) then it was the dog knocking over his water dish, this went on for weeks untill they threatened to move out. Finally a building inspector decided it was a leaking join on the balcony upstairs. Sent out work men who 'sealed it' still no change. After months of fobbing off and in laws complaining they finally authorised some serious work which took a month to complete and required scaffolding etc. That fixed it. When ever my inlaws spoke to anyone after that they were indifferent and unhelpful so they told them they'd had enough and have also moved out of a SARHA property and they had been with them since they took over from the council.
I'll never forget how they treated me. spoke to me and made me feel. They knew i had mental health issues but continued with their bullying tactics. Funny enough since leaving i've felt so much better, i'm a different person.

Grrrrrrrrr.... now i'm in the mood to rant!! Here we go.....

It took us 5 years from being told we could have a fire in our front room to actually getting one.

It also took us reporting needles regularly in the back garden and eventually neighbours reports of a peadophile putting 2p's through the payphone outside while watching our kids in the pool before we finally got a proper 6ft fence around the back garden!

Our kitchen is knackered beyond belief. Even the maintenance manager himself visited to look at the floor tiles (non existent at one end of kitchen) and said that the whole floor needs ripping up, which means removing the cupboards which are so knackered they wont go back in so really we need a new kitchen. He said that he would check out our "kitchen lifespan" on records then get back to us. 3 weeks later a guy turned up to "repair the kitchen floor". He came in and laughed!! He said that the whole lot needs ripping up and out and said he'd get onto the manager. guess what..... heard nothing ever since! The draining board work surface is water logged at the back to the point where you can push a finger into it, and the tiles are falling off because of this. Every draw front is held on with huge masses of araldite adhesive as I knew no other way. In fact bear with me and I'll take some pictures later.

Internal doors we have replaced mostly ourselves with the exception of one irregular sized one that we can't obtain.

What REALLY annoys me is that we have seen kitchens 5 times better than ours BEING RIPPED OUT on our street. We have neighbours that have somehow managed to get driveways with wooden high gates, despite not driving or owning a car (work THAT one out!), and generally they seem to lose any record of what we need done. A manager 3 or 4 years ago promised us a kitchen and said that we'd be contacted to choose the style etc but we never heard anything. The next time we mentioned this apparently there was no record of it and the manager no longer worked there.... how convenient!!

I feel you, my kitchen was a mess and as for fences.. The neibouring kids vandalised it even broke down some of it and we were told they didn't do fences. Yet low and behold they went up and down the street missing us out putting in drives and new fences. We had just done the front garden and didn't have a car so we declined a drive, but nope we didn't get a fence either. We had holes in the roof but were missed out when they reroofed the street. It took 2 years for a socket which wasn't working when we moved in to be looked at. They then wanted to rip out the central heating system and replace it in December, 3 weeks before christmas. They didn't understand when i refused. The housing officer even opened, cupboards and drawers to see what i had in there and looked behind chairs and the sofa! Please bear in mind that at the time my disabled daughter had a social worker, who was more than satisfied with the cleanliness and tidyness of my home.

We have been in this house for 18 years and never had a new bathroom only a bath, they updated the bathrooms in the houses on our street all except ours, when i complained they sent an inspector out , eventually we got a letter stating we would be due an updated bathroom in another 14 years, in the mean time the rest of the tenants down our street are enjoying there new bathrooms with showers.
When we moved in there was fern tree that was as tall as the house, around three years ago i asked them to remove it because in high winds it looked like it was going to fall and possible hurt someone, they said it was my tree and my responsibility, i got in touch with my counsellor, i came home one day and the tree had gone.

I can totally relate to that!

I have a number of stories from my old flat, and even more from my dad's old house...
