I'm glad you mentioned that. I had an idea for this a while ago, but wasn't sure how well it would go down, so it's good to hear that there will be some interest. :)

Dating is a tricky one. It could even turn quite X RATED if you weren't careful.... unless you could moderate that section so that you have to "vet" the posts and authorise them before they're actually shown?

With such a small pond I'm not sure how well it would work, plus dating disasters could spill into the main forum!

Exactly, and so no, they won't. I might move a few key threads, but the vast majority will stay where they are (e.g. all existing Classified threads will go into 'For Sale').

The could always just be moderated on sight, aye, otherwise let sleeping dogs lie, it'd be a lot to sort everything out. We can bury most things with new topics anyways!

Don't worry, all will be revealed. It won't just be a normal forum like all the others. ;)

In a nutshell, however, one will only have access to the "Chat & Flirt" forums if you donate to The Forum. This is not a money-making exercise; it is to help with exactly the issues you have raised above. By donating, it will 'verify' your identity (to a certain extent) and it will confirm that you are over 18. Therefore, the 'Premium Access' forums will have more relaxed rules, and will be more 'adult-orientated'. It also means that it will be more private, as the only people who will see your posts will be those who have donated. :)

Not at all. Stafford Forum is many things - a place to talk about local news, eating out, music, tv, cinema, theatre, gadgets, computers, etc. With the new Forum, in addition to all of those, it will provide a platform for more adult chat for those that want it.

Those that do not want it will not even be aware of its existence, and the posts won't be indexed by Google. It will be a totally private area, for local people to get to know one another better in a tightly moderated, friendly, secure environment. :)
