I'm pretty sure it's been discussed on here before. But a bird tells me there will be an announcement next week. What are others opinions.

Weston access route has already been announced so dought it will be that.
There was an ambition to deliver the stafford northern access route between a34 stone road to b5066 north of Beaconside funded by the community infrastructure levvie. Maybe there now taking this idea forward with the 3100 houses they wish to build north of Beaconside.

Are the black areas on here the development areas? if so that's a sh*t load of land adjacent to the marshes getting built on, a whole swathe alongside the disused railway line :( FFS when will the continuous environmental destruction that the council inflict on Stafford end

I would presume that some of the black areas are just cock-ups*, or the people already living under some of it might have heard something...

..and the dead people in the cemetery might even object..

..and, if the black areas are development land, then they've missed out bits, such as the field on the corner of Beaconside and the road to Sandon that was the subject of the bizarre "try to find Chebsey Village Hall competition"....

..who knows..?

*I believe that cock-ups can occur in planning arrangements - intentional, or otherwise.

I don't think we need worry about our local roads as Jeremy is all over it :hmm:

Pledges

Before the 2015 General Election I set out my pledges for Stafford constituency. Having the honour of being re-elected Stafford’s MP, this is the work I will be concentrating on:

INFRASTRUCTURE. CONTINUE TO CAMPAIGN FOR A LONG-TERM PROGRAMME OF IMPROVEMENT TO OUR ROADS, INCLUDING A RELIEF ROAD TO THE EAST OF STAFFORD, BETTER ROAD SURFACES

I will campaign for a relief road to the East of Stafford, extension of the smart motorway to J14 and 15, further improvements to tackle congestion hotspots and a substantial programme of resurfacing urban and rural roads. I will also ask for a full re-evaluation of the necessity of all traffic lights and their phasings. :master:

BETTER ROAD SURFACES ?!

Stafford must be the only place where they actively make road surfaces worse, eg, Creswell to Great Bridgeford.

Can I just state again that anyone who protests against road improvements/building should drop their car keys down the nearest grid straight away and never be allowed to drive again? Neither should they be allowed to cycle, catch a bus or indeed cross the street, as in their view roads are bad and we can't have any.
By the way, there are now a lot more cars registered in the UK than there are people with licenses. Ownership is going up a lot faster than licenses to drive.
