Been stood at Penkridge for a long, long time before I've given up to work from home.

That's the problem with the remote stations, you get so little information. Looking on National Rail website, there haven't been any trains at Penkridge going south now for over 1hr 30minutes.

About ten years ago, I approached a chap at Stafford who was mumbling to himself in an agitated manner whilst pacing up and down the platform. It turned out that he was wearing one of the early hands-free earpieces and was arguing with his wife about being late home. He told me that he was much more likely to throw her under a train than himself..

Oddly I did not have to commute in to London today. last few days the trains have been fine.

Unfortunately, I just found out that my whingeing was once again balanced by another person taking their life ( apparently ) in front of a train at Tamworth
Needless to say I am saddened and disturbed by each and every loss
