Stafford Rangers

I ♥ cryptic crosswords
I also realise that apart from perhaps some Stoke City fans most football supporters of most teams are unhappy at the moment, particularly with the state of the game and the money that vanishes from it

If Rangers were able to get a side who could compete towards the top third of the table consistently and also play fast attacking football, then I would not be surprised to see a lot of the supporters of the so called professional clubs drift back to the Boro, even though eleven quid sounds steep

The other contributing factor to the poor attendances is of course the poor state of the ground and its facilities, or lack of them

If you compare Telford with Stafford the difference is extremely depressing. ( I am talking grounds, this time chaps ) Although I do realise Telford managed their stadium in dubious circumstances

The past few years have been really bad for us supporters, but this year is going OK, clubs go through success and trouble, and hopefully next season we'll be able to build a firmer base and become more competitive. If we play good football fans will come, and recently we have been playing really good football, because the side has confidence. The ground isn't that bad, but it's far from impressive like some of the grounds at this level I've been too. There are plans for the ground, that over time will take place, but with the club's wounds slowly healing financially, it's difficult to fund such projects. You could pour a couple of million into the ground and it still would need work probably, but there's a good community down there.

The club has made plenty of mistakes, but hopefully we will start to make progress again, a top 10 finishing side for the next few years would bring people in, and bring the enjoyment back. The thing the club need to work on is reaching out to the wider community, and we are doing it slowly. This season we've started to reach out to some schools this year, and are trying to work with them and give the kids new opportunities (thats my role - so if you have any contacts in schools (or ideas) get in touch). But we need to offer a large spectrum of things to the community, to all people in the town, our new director (who has really sorted things out and is beginning to push us forward behind the scenes) wants us to become the community club, and like behind New Orleans Saints (Superbowl Winners) success they had an entire city behind them, maybe we'll manage to get plenty of people in the town behind the club, but the club need to make people want to come along, and get involved.

Mitch, are you the handsome chap who stands behind the goal with all manner of other buffoons who worship the very ground that you stand upon?

Would you consider yourself to be an "Old Boy"?

Do the Rangers still send free tickets around the local schools? This was a common occurance years ago.

Schools that we've contacted that are interested these include tillington, Walton, sir graham Balfour and they have received free tickets. Balfour are regular attendees. Were trying to get involved with more schools.
