The whole ideal for bedsits and no windows sounded really attractive proposal.

Sounds like a specific plan to get as many benefits claimants as possible into the smallest space imaginable, probably see at least 20k/month from that.

Exactly. The only surprise is the the council haven't approved it.

Good to see some businesses doing well at least - Chico’s was swamped this evening with tickets on the counter. Despite the best efforts of a certain councillor.

Mind you, only Chico’s and Caprino’s on that strip are doing well, every other takeaway was dead

The Shell garage on Sandon Road is having a Morrisons Go as the "mini mart" inside, and is currently being fitted out.

Seems odd as it has only just reopened (in relative terms) with a new fit out after the great flood.

A reliable source tells me the old River Island is being taken over by Specsavers, and the old millets is to be a bar/restaurant (subject to approval).

Wonder if Dominic Cummings is going to do the Grand reopening of Specsavers.

I bet specsavers would like to have a building with room for a stock room which is in the same building and not accross the street.

It is silly how they're building is split, it isn't a very user friendly building for the customers too, and upstairs is looking a bit tiered , so can see why they're moving .

It's a shame however, once again it's just a move , and not something new , as that'll be another empty property down there.

On my travels today I went to the shop almost next to the Texaco garage on Gaol Road, the range of spices they had was superb.

I ventured into the market too, and the Jamaican and Nepalese takeaways would have been very tempting if I wasn't about to go to the opticians. The food smelt amazing.
