The Grove coffee shop is changing into French & Byrne cafe bar.... Putting signage up this morning
Looks exactly the same but with a new name.

Never been in The Grove. Used to go in The Soup Kitchen a lot.
I don't know which of the Sandy sons runs there, but he has always been friendly, polite and very helpfull, especially if you had a baby buggy.
The same coffee as Wetherspoons but one probably pays more to get table service at clean tables.

It is not the same coffee as Wetherspoons. Wetherspoons' coffee is shit, Soup Kitchen's is very nice.
Wetherspoon's coffee is Lavazza.
French & Byrne's coffee is Lavazza.
That suggested "the same coffee" to me so I'd be interested to know how it's "shit" in one establishment but "very nice" in another.

Well firstly we were talking about the Soup Kitchen. No idea about the Grove since I was banished from there in 1984.

Secondly this...

One place cleans the machine the other doesn't 🤣

Thirdly there are different price points for the coffee that Lavazza sell to businesses and as we all know Spoons is cheap shit with all its products.

Timmy’s opening on Foregate Street and I noticed the old Dollond Aitchison is becoming another burger/pizza take away. Maybe they’ve gambled on Sports Direct conversion as well as maybe serving workers while it gets under way?
