Stafford shops opening - Turning into a boom town?

Some years ago, I remember somebody saying that they were ticketed for parking over the two hours there - at night, whilst dining in Vivere.

The signs do not include that restriction.

I think this is still the current sign

Must have changed at some point. With car parks like Kingsmead/North Walls & Asda moving to 2 hours free parking, I don't suppose people using Madford car park, for the town centre, is an issue anymore. And the 'town centre' is moving away from Madford as well.

It would be a long time ago, I think. I've kept a record of the various signs as they've changed over the years and never seen that requirement on any since I started using it. The conditions haven't varied a lot over that time. The levels of surveillance have gone up and down - I haven't seen much activity for a long time now, near enough from when the first Asda change occurred, as the same people were monitoring that one at the same time, it may be hardly worth paying someone to prevent a problem that isn't really happening much.

Staff cars are often there for well over the 'limit', maybe there is some arrangement for them?

Dunelm and The Range did/do have a 'thou shalt not leave the site' clause. Presumably to avoid the place being overrun by twitchers and dog walkers. If the bridge over the river for the new road (eventually) has pedestrian access, that could become an issue on Madford, too, I suppose.

Madford used to be patrolled by Extra Security, the boss himself used to drive round taking note of all car regs.
From my man in the know, when the contract for the parking came up for renewal, he over priced himself, lost Madford and TKMaxx at same time.

Noticed Britannia House on Eastgate Street is being refurbished, and the signs reference Wates Living Space, who seem to work with housing associations, so is it becoming SARH apartments?

It has. I completely forgot where I was going and ended up having to cut up the alley alongside it. There must have been such a lovely building there before given the colonnade.

They were supposed to be making a food court
An infamous forum made up story...again lol
so what is happening with all the empty shops in the bottom end of the Guildhall?
Could it possibly be a food court?

The centre also includes a 272 space multi storey car park, i-Motion Gym, the town centre market and there are plans to create a new Food Court to the rear of the scheme.
Whilst they may be wrong, I doubt they relied on this forum for their information.
