I do wonder who plans traffic lights. They never seem to actually take into the other lights on the road, it's like everyone got to pick a spot blindly

Temp traffic lights and contraflow at junction of Sundown Dr and Newport Rd by entrance to golf club, just past the castle. If they are still there later on this afternoon it could get very busy.

"Temporary" lights on Eccleshall Road, by the hotel entrance, due to a coned-off area of tarmac.

I could see no obstruction, other than the cones, lights and signs - no potholes, equipment or anything else that would stop you driving through it as normal.

One has to suspect that they may have just left it to avoid the bother of removing it and setting it up again.

Talking about "temporary" traffic lights, what the hell is happening with those traffic lights across the A51 bridge over the M6??? Every day, I am subject to no roadworks going on whatsoever, nothing happening, either no-one there or workers just chatting having cups of tea. Weeks on end , nothing has been happening, a sign says "Concrete Setting" but how long does it take for concrete to set??? Endless mindless delays all for what??? Whatever is happening could have been done in a few weeks, but no, let's stretch it out to as long as we can and cause misery to the cars that pass over. Anyone else affected by this uncalled for obstruction??

And what's with the roads around Stafford being sprayed with a very very thin layer of tar?? Is that supposed to provide a long lasting road surface that will last for years?? Not even any loose chippings has been put down??

The general idea of that is to prevent water ingress, which may result in erosion and frost damage leading to (more) potholes.

I'm told.

I think on Clanford Road at Seighford, they just cut the grass and did a fly past with a crop sprayer loaded with grey paint.
