I have a run to Cannock about half-ten tomorrow morning - what is the likely state of Radford Bank at that sort of time these days?
This afternoon it was U turn city as folks gave up on the A34 and tried their luck on the A449. Coming out of town it was a U turn on the A34, followed by the same on the A449 before heading home via the Newport road and back lanes a lovely afternoons drive!

Things that are extremely unlikely to happen, in order of likeliness (most likely first):

Lefroy sticks up for Stafford
Teresa May is human
Weston Road/Riverway lights get a filter for right turns.

I seem to remember a right filter light at Weston Road/Riverway many years ago. I would guess removed as it helped free flowing traffic.
Teresa May not for turning right.
Lefroy to write how well he has done for Stafford.

Enjoying a drop of red.
Lefroy to write how well he has done for Stafford.
Well he's not going to write the truth is he.

Shook a few hands, did my bit to move Stafford's services to SoT, asked a million boring questions in parliament about Africa and tried to look important on the Brexit Committee.

Temporary lights on the Wolverhampton road, just at the John Amery Drive junction - Western Power, probably an electrical issue, as this is what is rumoured to have closed the Royal Oak today.

When I went past earlier the lights were out at Selector and The Oak, plus the street lights and the crossing near Brookglen Road. Burton Square must be on a different circuit.

Mmm, in my innocence, I assumed that somebody had had the sense to turn off the crossing to stop it conflicting with the randomness of the temporary lights, as happened with such bizarre futility on Eccleshall Road recently.

I apologise for my naivety.

Yesterday afternoon I was coming home on the A34 Cannock Road and I usually turn down Joyce's Lane (by the egg farm) into Bednall.

There was an accident there with a 4x4 severely damaged and on the other side of the road (Joyce's Lane) an ambulance had gone through the hedge into the land where the used car sales is. Another ambulance next to it.
Give way signs on both sides of Joyce's lane lying on the roadside.

It was concerning because if the ambulance was on a blue light and had a passenger in the back, going straight through a hedge and demolishing road signs would have been traumatic at best and the worst doesn't bear thinking about.

I wondered if the second ambulance parked next to it was transferring the patient from one ambulance to another, and possibly the paramedics also.

I haven't seen any info anywhere about this and I wondered if anyone had heard anything and if everyone involved survived the ordeal with only minor injuries?

Only Heard a news report of the accident, saw the Ambulace being transported away, (Lichfield Rd) didn't look to good, a further Ambulance followed.
