It's bound to feature as a more betterer section of future half marathons as well, you'd imagine.

Would be a good link for any Dorman Diesels workers, while it's still alive, who live Baswich way also.

Two hundredish there? How many cycle to work? How many of them live in Baswich? How many others might walk from Baswich?

Helicopter flights for them until it shuts might be cheaper.

I'd be interested to know how many people work on the Tech Park - they are the remaining obvious beneficiaries - does anyone know?

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
I walked down the canal towpath this evening and saw three cyclists on the Bridge to Nowhere already.

I may be wrong, however isn't the land surrounding the cycle path proposed for housing in the recently adopted Local Plan. If I am right and housing is proposed the residents would be an obvious beneficiary of the new cycle link.

I noticed this morning that the road layout has been changed outside Sainsburys.

Good work by the highways department... NOT!!!

I thought that it was working better, now all the idiots racing up the right lane to squeeze in, are taking it a bit more carefully now they can meet a head on crash.

I drove through there yesterday afternoon and did not notice any significant change ? although it had been a busy day :help:

How do I edit this?
Thank God somebody had the foresight to stop people loading here during the rush hours.

Also, why is there pavement there? Apart from the fact it's cut off from any pedestrian routes at either end it could actually be quite useful in saving you from the inevitable muddy feet you get going the nature reserve way.

wasn't there talk in the budget of supporting tidal estuary or hydro projects - a few trees across the bridge supports would soon dam the Sow - great place for Staffords very own hydro electricity plant!

I'm very pro cycling, but I do wonder what the reasoning behind this bridge is and if anyone actually checked there was demand that would justify such a large spend. Anyone know?

Simple, the road isn't very good for overtaking, there's no pedestrian footway, at least one of the bridges is listed and therefore can't be demolished and replaced. The chances of road improvements are very minimal.

The money came from a central government green improvements fund, so if Stafford hadn't been given the money somewhere else would, so we should welcome the fact Stafford was chosen. I've been across the bridge today and it's a great improvement to my cycle commute.

I can't see what the problem people have with the bridge.
