Incorrect. It is part of the answer and frankly only a small part as it addresses only local tragic and not through traffic.
.

I assume yoou mean local TRAFFIC. If you think local traffic is only a small part of the issue how do you explain the fact that these horrendous volumes of traffic we get every rush hour seem to disappear in the school holidays...............are you suggesting that all this school term time traffic is through traffic? Sorry but that is just utter rubbish. Sit outside every school in Stafford and you will see the sheer volume of parents who drive their kids less than a mile to school, in some cases significantly less, and then drive the short distance to work. It's madness.

As an aside, had a beautiful walk to town today, fantastic autumnal weather for walking, and I had a sense of massive satisfaction as the idiots in cars queued and queued and queued to get in to town as I sped past them on shanks pony :D

Probably on holiday. Hence why most places I have worked at the work car park is half empty in the school holidays.

All the best

Oh no, cost us millions to tart up Victoria Park last time she dropped in.

If it's the same person I'm thinking of I seem to have a recollection of her being very good at making a dramatic arrival out of a helicopter, so there's no real need for them to tart up the roads.

Maybe Kyoto will gave her a "backy" around the rest of the town.

Yep, let me know and I'll clear my calender :). I'm well practised as I used to regularly give my daughter a 'backy' to school.............oooh the danger :D

Well she should foot the bill then (even though that still means we foot the bill in a round about way) . Theres loads of pensioners struggling to heat their homes every winter ,meanwhile the countrys biggest dole dosser turns up in a chopper to a red carpet welcome and no expense is spared by our ass kissing council.

He did we tart up victoria park, play area was mostly financed by grants and would be an odd thing to tart considering she didn't go that way.

My other half walks in to town along the Newport Road. She often gets to the railway station before a lot of the cars stuck in the traffic. Her justifiable gripe is with cyclists on the path who think you should get out of their way.

People in Stafford moaning and moaning about traffic but not prepared to get out of their cars and cycle - meanwhile over in Copenhagen the number of residents who commute by bike is ABOVE 50%. I just don't see why that can't happen here???

It does come with it's own problems though :)

The traffic is bad, the road structure is bad, the number of lights in succession in some areas is awful and the numpty drivers don't help... so I will moan and moan because I have to sit in it twice a day and it's fecking annoying cos plenty could be done to relieve the pinch points if the council would grow some balls. As for not being prepared to cycle.....more like don't have the option actually!

Because Stafford is a small town with lots of commuters whereas Copenhagen is a fairly compact, major city where majority of people work in the centre and live reasonably close by!

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
.... how do you explain the fact that these horrendous volumes of traffic we get every rush hour seem to disappear in the school holidays.....

Because people with school age children are on holiday during school holiday time and not going to work perhaps.

Enjoying a drop of red.
There is quite a noticeable drop on election days and with the odd teachers' strike, too.

Because people with school age children are having to take the day off and not going to work if there kid's school is affected perhaps.
