I took Dad to Stafford Hospital for outpatients appointment at 8:30 and was surprised at the lack of traffic. Unfortunately his doctor was not so lucky and was delayed by over an hour, coming down from Stoke.
Looks like the M6 has an accident on the new lane one, is that two trucks trying to go round a broken down vehicle but hitting the back of it ?

Things backing up towards J14.

There was an accident down at Jct 10 in the new lane one last week . Gantry signs above still showing '60' and everyone playing dodgems trying to get into the other lanes to avoid the car and lorry that had already crashed. These 'Smart' motorways are not so smart after all!

Looks like a long time til hubby gets home then, he's just finished work at Astonfields. He goes outbound up the Sandon Road and Beaconside, but looking at that map......
Sandon Road now solid inbound - moving outbound, but I suspect Beaconside is stuffed.

Salt - Weston - Haywood - Shugborough - Milford - Home...?

Out, round and back in again.

Sandon Road has suddenly emptied of stationary traffic - the traffic is now very sparse - I'm wondering if people can now longer get here at all...?

Oh Happy Days!
Apparently and from what information is available it looks like the Eccleshall Road will be CLOSED from around McDonalds towards the M6, (March 29 to April 21) and traffic diverted along the A34 Stone Road, ( that will make getting in and out of Tesco express fun won't it)
Also a diversion is planned for traffic to use Browning Street and Goal Road, (April 21 to May 1st).

Are you sure its the Eccleshall Road that will be closed, and not the Stone Road? Looking at https://roadworks.org/ it looks like its the Stone Road that will be closed, with traffic diverted along the Ecccleshall Road.

Either way, its a recipe for chaos or, as its known in Stafford, normal road conditions!
