Isnt this to do with the new cycle lane ?
I mean, seriously, who uses cycle lanes?? Even the cyclists don't use them when they are created! Or toucan crossings. Ever seen a cyclist wait patiently at a toucan crossing for the green bicycle to be displayed? They likely press the button and cycle on regardless, as do the pedestrians. This will all be a massive waste of time and money & will likely will take 2 years to complete, just like the Market Square chaos.

What they need to do is to remove the traffic lights from around Gaol Square roundabout as the traffic flow is much less since the WAR opened, so stopping cars for no reason. Let it flow!

Looks like Chell Road is closed from 11th Sept 23 till 3rd May 24.

If they are still doing what was mentioned on the Western Access Road plans then it will never be 'open' again.

They are suspending the one-way on North Walls from Malt Mill Lane to Queensway for that period too.
I thought it was 9months!

Three-quarters of bus services to and from Stafford, 16 of 21, use the four bus stops in Chell Road.
Has any thought been given to what will happen to them.

Station Road will eventually be a no through road and stop outside the station from both directions.

A grassy knoll will connect Victoria Park to the station

Jugglers and acrobats will greet John Travolta as he arrives on the overnighter from Penkridge to cut the ribbon and open the knoll.

He will also unveil a plaque of honour to himself to commemorate buying a vending machine milk chocolate bar on platform one in June 1987

All this messing about in the centre. It's the darn roads into town they want to sort out. Once you get into town there's plenty of ways around busier roads.

They're going to create raised pedestrian crossings on the roundabout too (from what I can make out) ? I've never seen road humps on a roundabout before, can't see that being very popular.

A proper walking/,cycling infrastructure would be totally separate from vehicles but it's too late for a fresh start with a blank slate

Anyone know what was happening on Austin Friars this morning? Was closed at 08:00. Police and fire service in attendance.

What good is cycling into town if you can't even leave your bike safe without some scrote stealing it. It's this lack of joined up thinking which really annoys me.
