Starting Monday (4 March) we’ll be carrying out investigations on the A34 ahead of a major upgrade.
This exciting project, funded by the Government's Levelling Up Fund, will bring significant long-term benefits for cyclists, pedestrians, and motorists.
It includes full resurfacing, road repairs, dedicated walking and cycling paths, and upgraded crossings from Weeping Cross to the junction with the A449 roundabout. Street light replacement began in January too
To ensure the safety of workers and motorists during the early works phase, temporary traffic lights and lane closures will be in place from 4th - 22nd March. Traffic signals on Radford Bank near Meadow Ridge will be manually controlled on weekdays between 9.30am and 3pm. The left-hand lane at the top of Radford Bank turning onto the A513/Baswich Lane will also be closed.
While these temporary measures may cause some disruption, the long-term improvements to the A34 in
#Stafford and
#Cannock will be well worth it.
