Swine Flu pt 2

Funny you should say that. It used to be 2 jabs for swine flu you know. Now they say that just one is enough.

.... I might still demand the second jab though, but I don't want to look like a greedy pig.

2 in 1 now, I've been invited (now over 65) but I wont be going, what don't kill you makes you stronger, and I don't trust them doctors, always sick people hanging round them.

Before your time??? I'm not normally attracted to right wing female politicians, but after watcing the US mid terms, I have to admit I'm finding Sarah Palin rather attractive - Not for the space between her ears I hasten to add!

My m&p had jab last wednesday. I have two folks in the family who administer and say it has both avian and swine flu strains in this year.

They are both doubtful. M&P have been ill since thursday last week. P in bed for two days and M for the entire seven and doesn't seem to me getting any better. P is 67 and M 66. Both fit as fiddles for the most part. Beware.

All conjecture I know but there you go....

Flu hurts.

Nobody who has had flu would ever say they had a 'touch of' flu if they had a cold.

Flu hurts enough to understand why it kills people - in the grip of it, death often seems preferable.

I ( presumably ) had the Hong Kong flu in 1969. I lost about five days of my life in delerium - real flu is a very serious issue...

Cheers for the sympathy shag.

Hope both folks die soon to soothe the pain.

Having "proper" flu is the new "I saw the *insert cool new band here*" at the " *insert smallest local shithole here*".

Have a new idea mate....

Ooo I used to use that term all too freely, I did have the 'proper flu' April 09, the date I remember cos before then when I'd 'had the flu' I'd simply had a rite bad cold. It floored me, literally..that's where my Dad found me when he had come to fit my bathroom suite one day...I just hadn't the energy to get myself back into my bed. I now understand why it is a killer, cos it kicks the common colds ass.
But the jab, swine flu or other are not on my list of things to do yet. Another bout and I'd certainly reconsider.

Sorry, didn't mean to be unsympathetic to you but sympathetic to them.

I've had flu just the once and, quite apart from the intense fever that had me burning one minute then freezing the next, from my tripped out memory of it what i remember most was the pain in my joints - every movement, removing the duvet only to pull it back over again - every movement just hurt.

It's not something one forgets in a hurry.

Had my jab yesterday for the second year running, bicep aches a bit, last year i had a couple of minor 48 hour really bad cold/mild flu feel like crap but nothing that knocked me down and stopped me working, the only time i had full flu was about 15 years ago and i collapsed and was bedridden/weak as a kitten for 5 days. These days with most employers being quite unsympathetic regarding absence even with a sick/fit note i view it as an investment, also getting old i don't bounce back as quickly as i used too.
