The Bankhouse Cafe Bar

I went out for a few drinks last Friday night, only stopping for 1 or 2 in each place, decided to go to the bank house for a first time in ages and the place was empty - Am i missing something? CASA and the yard are always really busy - not that I tend to go in either if I can help it, the bank house was always by far one of the better places for a couple of beers and a bite to eat in town, it's a shame if nobody's using it.

I've been a couple of times recently for lunch on a Saturday, it's been fairly busy both times.

I've never understood why it's not busier either - one of my fave places in Stafford, but in a way I am glad it doesn't attract the same people as Casa and the Yard, they're welcome to them

It may have just been a quiet night for them, althought the pie and ale, joxers and the swan were all pretty busy, I must admit I used to go there a lot if i was in town during the day for a quick bite or a coffee but since having a little un, I tend to just head to costa now.

I know what you mean, I'm not a fan of CASA and such places (The yard, The Litten Tree, The Tavern), I must be getting old but i do like to have somewhere to sit down with a drink and be able to hear what the person Im with is saying.

don't mention the blinds
I find the coach & horses often has an eclectic mix and the yard/litten/casa types although present actually moderate themselves when amongst 'adult' company.....

Has anyone eaten in The Bank House lately? What's the food like? I think it's been at least 18 months since I had a meal there

Last ate there before the clocks went back and i found the food and service very agreeable.......

I ate there a couple of months ago last. Totally like it in there. Food is nice but they don't let kids in, maybe that's restricting their custom somewhat.

Certainly rules me out on most occaisions, as I've said before there aren't really that many child friendly places in town.

They always go on about how Europe is very a very child friendly. Its true they allow children in most restaurants and bars but the children tend to be well behaved. Also you very rarely get childrens menus. The children eat the same as their parents but only smaller portions. Unfortunatley a few parents in the UK have difficulty looking after themselves and certainly have difficulty looking after their children. To this end I can understand why some places do not allow children.

Indeed, I lunch there about once every few months, which is as much as I do anywhere else in stafford.

How do I edit this?
Bankhouse to close on Saturday apparently. A member of the staff was asking me about job vacancies.
