Following on from Marwoods "who will you NOT vote for" poll.... I though it would be interesting to see if this ones gives us a different answer to who is popular / unpopular..

So who WILL you be voting for.... if undecided please select who you are most likely to vote for rather than choosing "other"

I honestly have no idea. I have absolutely no respect for either of the main parties, bunch of thieves the lot of them. Not sure if I'll vote lib dems, not looked at their policies enough to decide. Also not sure who else I'd vote for!

Which raises the question... do you vote for someone that you know can't win....

Only if you believe they are the right party. Which they're not. None of them are.

I'll be voting tory as to not waste my vote altogether, although they don't truly represent my feelings tbh. I can't even entertain the idea of another nu labour government though, I think i might have to premature emigrate

But out of the two parties likely to win it marwood....

You can have the reds who like to feather the nests of the scroungers in society....

or the blues who like to feather the nests of the better off in society.

Its the better of two evils but i'd rather see people who work hard to get where they are do well than people who sit around and do fook all for their benefits.

I fully agree that the reds, or purples as they became after Blair took over, feather the nest of the scroungers in society - it just so happens that those scroungers are members of both Houses and/or directors of companies/quangos that have profited from the Thatcherite regime that is New Labour

My point is this - Shiny Faced Eton Dave will only increase this great divide of wealth more so - leaving the unconnected even more disconnected than today

The choice is dire but I have never ever come close to considering voting Tory even with the knowledge that New Labour is bent and spent

Rise up ye people of Britain - Awake and seek a better way

Slow boat to New Zealand anyone?

Yes, I'd rather those in power knew how many were displeased by what they do. I'd certainly not vote for someone I don't want to win, and not voting does nothing. I still want my 'none of the above' box!

This will be the sixth general election that I have voted in.

The first two elections, I supported the party of my choice who came third almost every time since 1951 where I lived at that time. After that, I chose to vote tactically to keep the Tories out.

For the first time since 1997 I will be voting in an election where I can vote for my preferred candidate and it actually make a difference to the result rather than purely an anti-tory vote for a Party that I had little identification with.

For that reason, I will be voting Labour, despite all of their glaring, crass errors, their "new" ways and the Iraq war.

I really do not want to see another conservative government. They are wolves in sheeps clothing.

Probably Green, actually. Just because I want to have voted Green in each type of Election. I've done Euro, Borough and County so once this is over I am free. Although the Borough one was at Keele, in which case I might have to stand so I can vote for myself - then I will have completed one of those things you've got to do before you die and I can get on with my life instead of participating in this BS.

I definitely would not vote Green - this is a wasted vote. The candidate seems to keep boasting that he was Mayor of Stafford which seems rather strange...

i've never voted in any election, mainly because i think the only parties with a chance of winning are so similar it really won't make a blind bit of difference.. and as soon as one is in power, they will eventual cock something up so badly that everyone starts to hate them, and so the country will just switch teams again..

i'm actually thinking of popping my cherry this year, though.. and i never, ever thought i would hear myself think it, let alone say it, but i might vote lib dems :|

there is no way in hell any sane person would vote green imo.. yes, green issues are important, but at the end of the day none of us are on this mortal coil for very long so you have to make the best of the life you are given.. i do not want a party in power whose primary focus is saving whales, or whatever, when it should be improving the strength and position of the country by improving the strength and standard of living of its inhabitants and their economy..

It's not a wasted vote if it's the candidate you actually wish to vote for.

The trouble with tactical voting is that over time the actual voting intentions of the constituency become skewed. If all those who would like to vote for Party A vote for Party B to thwart Party C you never know what the potential Party A vote would be.

I think Mr. Shone is merely highlighting the fact that he has close ties to, and knowledge of, the people of Stafford and has experience of public office.

Same here, although not actually looked at their policies yet! It more that I can't vote red or blue.

It would be interesting to see what the voting results would be if everyone voted for the party they wanted, rather than voting for a party because they see voting for the party they actually want to win as a wasted vote.

Just taking a look at our local MP (David Kidney), and find his past voting a little worrying. Heavily against any inquiries into Iraq, very strongly for allowing ministers to intervene in inquests and very strongly for introducing ID cards. On the flip side he's all for the smoking ban, against fox hunting and for equal gay rights. Sounds like a moral person in principle but has his own interests at heart? Which is what most are like I suspect....

Just realised that was a scarily adult post from me, I shall go and write graffiti in the toilets immediately to redeem myself...
