it simply means Leroy Jaffa or whatever the bloke in the blue corner is called, is bound to get in...
The bloke is a complete con-artist:

How's he going to manage all that in the context of big spending cuts......?

Interesting link:

www.votematch.org.uk

Answer 30 questions and it will tell you which party your views are most aligned with.

(Site is running like a 2 legged dog at the moment as it was featured on BBC this morning)
been trying (and failing) to get on this all morning, so it's obviously being bummed hard! i'm interested to see the results..

Just seen a tweet to say that the link is now working and sure enough it is.

I came out (oo-er) as:

UKIP 57%
BNP 52%
Cons 48%
Labour 34%
Lib Dems 32%
Greens 22%

Not sure if I am surprised about that or not.

interesting:

note that i selected to compare all parties, just out of interest - obviously i would never dream of voting UKIP, BNP, or green! it's interesting to note that 2 of those ranked much higher than labour, however :raise:

as previously mentioned, i was considering voting for those yellow-bellied fence-sitters anyway, and apparently The Internet™ agrees with me :aboot:

Same for me... don't think its as interesting if you don't select all parties.

What did UKIP ever do to you though DB?

interesting as well, if i select just "the big 3" it turns out the opposition are level pegging:

3 words: robert kilroy silk :teef:

no idea really, i'm not familiar with their policies, and i don't know what scoring criteria votematch uses - i just answered all the questions honestly! all i know about UKIP is that people see them as second-rate racists with no real policies other than "ban baguettes :grr:"..

The hypocrisy and lies of the parties becomes apparent when you look at the parties policies on there.. very interesting.

For example:

"New prisons need to be built to ease overcrowding."

My answer was "Agree" and so I got a match with Liebour... hang on a second wasn't it their LACK of prison building a year back that led to convicts being released EARLY....

Extracts the urine.

3. The UK's stock of nuclear weapons should be reduced.
UKIP = Disagree

4. The government should withdraw troops from Afghanistan within a year.
UKIP = Open Minded

ah, i would have liked to have seen that but didn't see the option, and now i've closed the window so my results have been wiped.. do you have a link for the answers the parties gave?

i disagreed with that.. i think the solution is not to build more prisons, just to make sure actual criminals are taking up the space (e.g. don't criminalise drug users, etc.)..

it's a brilliant site gk, thanks for posting it.. yes, some will say it's lazy/biased/flawed/etc. but for someone like me, who has never voted in their life because they feel there is just too much information to absorb and don't feel able to make an informed decision, it certainly helps.. the fact i had half-heartedly considered voting lib-dem already, and this website agrees, certainly makes me more inclined to take the plunge :)

Yet also to give harsher penalties and more importantly real deterrent to the 'bad' criminals (who decides that though...). Make prison a place to fear, not an easy ride.

You can only see the parties answers after it displays your results.I too have closed mine now but even if I hadn't I suspect the link wouldn't work as the session would be unique to me.

The prison think is open to interpretation (as are most questions /policies in this domain).

The Lib Dems comments in response to their "Disagree" was "Prison isn't working so we need better rehabilitation etc"

I kind of agree with that and if the rehab was better then I would disagree that we needed more prison places, but the fact that rehab isn't better means I think we DO need more places.

I agree too with Tek that more prison places are a waste of time if prison is too cushy, and I agree with you DB that we wouldn't need more places if only "real" criminals were sent to jail.

However I do disagree with DB on the "don't criminalise drug users" thing... a spotty kid smoking one spliff here and there ok, but if someone refuses help to get over their addiction then its a different matter for me. Drugs wreck lives and not just the lives of the drug takers IMHO.

so does alcohol.. so does gambling.. so does sex.. so does [insert anything remotely pleasurable or habitual here]..

i'm not necessarily saying make the drugs industry completely legal, just decriminalise users.. locking users up does nothing to stem the supply of drugs, it just uses up literally billions of pounds of resources.. locking up users is pointless, they will probably kill themselves one way or another, it's just costing the country billions trying to stop them doing it..

The telegraph has been linking the matchmyvote page. I did it last week and apparently I'm more green than anything else followed by red, yellow and minor scores for the also rans.

That may be because the Green party is the only viable socialist party left still standing. Vote Green, f**k yeah.

The way in which Stafford Green Party conducted their campaign against the Western Access has put me off voting for them again locally.
