By bicycle?.Returned this evening from a meal at the Hollybush.
Me and the Mrs used to frequent the Hollybush regularly up until about a year ago when we last went. We both felt that the standard had tailed off somewhat. The food was pretty ordinary and bland - the Greek Lamb dish which is usually fabulous was fatty and a bit rubbery, kind of as if it was actually cooked the day before and not sold so they just re-heated it. The chips were squashy and not all that warm. Given the really high standards it had before we both said we wouldn't rush back as there are now places as good if not better in and around Stafford.
Having the little one now they don't really cater that well (or at all) for pushchairs as the place is too cramped and small. As I say haven't been for 12 months or more. I think its a tad overrated and perhaps rests on its reputation a bit much
There is a sign there now that says that they can't accept wheelchairs or pushchairs inside the building, due to 'fire regulations'.Having the little one now they don't really cater that well (or at all) for pushchairs as the place is too cramped and small.
Have you seen The Hollybush & The Swan are both featured in a national promotional film called "it's Better Down the Pub Campaign"
