The Homeless man outside iceland

I'm in the 40% tax bracket and I'm not at all bitter about it, proof enough?
Er, no.
I would be more than happy to pay more tax if it helped improve the lives of others, I'm a big fan of Basic Income and would have no problem with a 50% effective tax on my income if it meant we would have Basic Income in this country.
That's very kind of you. Whilst you wait for the Government, I take it you donate the extra 10% of what you would happily pay in tax to charity then?
I'm not a unicorn, there are large numbers of high income people who very much believe in the idea of ensuring everyone has a good standard of living before personal wealth.
Funny that. I know a swath of people who earn a pittance that believe in that idea, too.
There are terrible people at every level of wealth, in this thread for example there is someone (who I assume) earns a fairly average income and thinks of homeless people as "scroungers"!
Then again, they may be earning a fortune or peanuts. What's your point caller?
The plural of anecdote isn't data but... I've met far more low-income people who are hateful towards low-income people than well off people who are hateful towards low-income people.
So, unreliable, then. Thanks for the moot point.
You don't even know what my view is. You make sweeping generalisations and straw man logic. Now this isn't a fact, but everybody I've met who is in the 40% tax bracket thinks the same as you. TRUE.

I do donate frequently, but that's not a fair point to make. The problem with the way that this country works at the moment is that there is no government provided security: if an individual is unfortunate enough to have problems (whether that's employment, mental health, addiction) and they don't have their own support network they can end up on the street, as is evidenced by the homeless people in Stafford. If I donate a significant portion of my income it comes at a personal cost: my security. I'm happy to sacrifice luxuries for security, and I would love to be able to sacrifice another 10%, 20% of my income if it was towards providing everyone (including myself) with security, but that is unfortunately not possible at this point in time.

I'm not interested in playing the logical fallacy game, I was just sharing my point of view and experience discussing this issue with people of all income levels. I'm sorry if I misrepresented your view on taxation.

Is it me but ? Is Stafford a dumping ground ? Stafford Prison and St Georges They is a lot of mentally ill around town The chap near Iceland He's a nasty man and don't give him nothing ,The Chinese Lad,The Loser outside Starbucks who has not worked for 20 years and says he can not work to depressed (One man climbed Mount Everest with two false legs) and his benefits friends who dream of work and benefits and blame the foreign people for taking the jobs ah I see you’re always outside Starbucks looking for work

I didn't realise that people still existed with an attitude like yours. Mental illness can strike anybody at any time. A good friend of mine has suffered with depression and it is awful. You should be thankful that you have good mental health.

What species did you evolve from?

I second Prawn Cocktails reply regarding mental health....I my self have battled depression to to the point where for a split second I considered the most cowardice action of all and taking my own life. Thankfully I didnt and I am now stronger and in a better place mentally than I have for quite sometime.....mental health is something you DO NOT mock.....

Do you know "The Loser" as you so kindly put it? Do you know the possible battle he has had to face personally that has rendered him in this most unfortunate situation? I would suspect not.

Personally I don't either, but I would certainly give him/her the time of day to at least try and make something better for them self.

I highly doubt he/she wants to be in the situation that they are in and unemployed....

You really are an utter prick. Aren't you? I work at St.Georges, do you really think the people there want to be ill?
Just FYI I did buy the gentleman outside of Iceland something to eat, and the gentleman further down, towards Wilkinsons. And I didn't go to Maccy Ds, I got them both a pork sandwich, from the bap shop, A hot drink, and gave them a blanket each. Both were grateful, so many people pass them as if they have something nasty that can be caught, I bet that's what you do.
If at any point, you are in need of help from St. Georges, you will find that we don't discriminate against anyone. Everyone who comes into the services are treated with the respect they deserve.

This guy outside Iceland is actually my partners friend among with the other so called "tramps" he himself was homeless aswell all but 4 years ago until we met and he finally got a place of his own. It's true that there isn't just him there are actually ALOT of homeless people in stafford but the problem is they don't like to help themselves and it's true that every little money they get it does on cheap bottles of cider and roll ups, like my partner though some of them have changed there lives round but some have gone back down hill, I suppose it's how some people actually are in general?

I think you've misread, what he meant to say was "You can't blame me cos bigger boys said it too". Which we all know is a complete get out of jail free card, if other people think it then you must be vindicated, just look at Britain First.

Going on the theory that one other person may not know who BritainFirst are ( i found out last week ) this, i believe is they, and to what tek-monkey refers..
