As close as I live, I didn't realise that much had gone. Must've been busy in the last week. Evolution but a sad time for my home patch.

Well the wrecking crew are almost done in fact it should be completed by end of play today. Failing that 13:15 tomorrow lunchtime.
I was wondering can they build on the concrete apron that remains or will they have to remove that as well ? ........

Good point well made.....
They can probably build on top of the concrete however I wouldn't think the gardens will do very well......

One of my many abodes was built on the site of a wartime airfield. When one of the fence posts rotted, we tried to dig round the lump of concrete that it was set in, only to find that it was the remains of the perimeter track...

Very odd having a clear view of the Castle after all my years of living round here. Will have to go over and survey the left over space very soon.
One odd thought just popped into my head regarding the hard winters we've recently had. That stretch of track not far from the station won't have the shelter of the buildings so may be exposed to heavy snow in coming months. Sorry - mind working overtime! :blah:

The pictures were taken on my phone in normal and panoramic settings. Including elevated pictures of the site, entrance to the old car park, from back end of car park and the lane, and from ground level near where the club stood.
Coincidentally, as I was taking the pictures a chap and a young lad were also taking a look and we got chatting. It turned out he was somebody who had lived in Castletown and I hadnt seen for over 30 years!
