The Old Library - Rowley Street

Can anyone enlighten me on The Old Library on Rowley Street. Was it actually an old library? Can anyone recall when it ceased being an old library. A few doors down is a shop front that now houses a window company I believe, what was that also?

It was the North Branch Library at number 41, certainly existed at least until the 1970s, Cotterells Grocers was at number 48

The window shop that you refer to used to be "Goodwins Electrical shop". It sold TV's and Radios and also offered a repair service.

Used to be my old library. Formidable lady used to dominate the place and censor books taken out as a kid. Wife worked there on occasion and said what a spooky place it was to lock up at night. ..
