It was there last night tonight. The food was lovely. It isopen again on the 27th, being taken over by someone who has 2 restaurants already.

It is being taken by the folk who run The Greyhound at Yarlet and The Parks at Uttoxeter

Is this really true?
According to the Uttoxeter Advertiser in June, Paul Wood actually moved to the Parks from the Greyhound and went into a joint venture with Trust Inns investing £100000. It doesn't seem likely that he would concentrate his food skills also at the Red Lion (Thwaites).

I believe the Red Lion re opens this evening - not sure who is running it myself, however, I believe chef No 3 in the kitchen was keen in staying involved after the two couples departed

Quote from the Greyhound website -
"Paul and Helen Wood are proud to be the business owners of The Greyhound Inn at Yarlet and The Parks Restauarnt in Uttoxeter. At The Greyhound their fabulous team is led by Michelle Moore, a hugely talented chef and manager."

And or the Parks -
"Paul Wood welcomes customers past, present and future to his new and exciting venture. Paul has moved to The Parks from The Greyhound at Yarlet and along with his son Daniel (previously a Chef at Weston Hall), he prepares fresh, home cooked food of an exceptional standard, in a friendly, welcoming environment.
Having made such a success here has subsequently returned to the Greyhound and added that to his grow portfolio."

I think that he has managers at both premises and is building up a small chain of restaurants.

So it may be possible then

Sad to see the three hundred thousand year old ( ish ) Beech tree had to be sawn down in the churchyard next door ...

Crusty cheese and onion cobs and a guest beer ( not Thwaites ) would almost get me back on a bicycle and out there......

As I understand it, the people from the Greyhound at Yarlet will NOT be taking over the Red Lion

It remains under a temporary, fill in, relief, non permenant, you get the drift, manager..
