On another point i think they should be engaging with social media and the locals via mediums such as this forum/twitter/facebook i know they have twitter and facebook accounts but there is not alot of activity on the networks. they could learn a lot from the lewis partnership who are very active on social media.
Some organisations still think that form of media is beneath them.

Then those organisations wonder why their business is going down the tubes.

We visited the Post Hose last night for the second time in a week and were once again hugely impressed with the service, the food, the surroundings, the innovation and the value.
There are a lot of rumours floating around the town about the restauarant and its service and pricing policy. I think this is because it offers fine dining which is to Michelin standard with the accompanying price point, but it also offers fabulous food and drink in the Bistro. Seven of us dined there last night and the bill including all drinks and wine was £199. Two of us had one of the Specials for the night which was one of the tastiest T-Bone steaks I have eaten anywhere. The headchef came out and a had a chat with us about the meal and was looking for feedback. Then the owner joined us for ten minutes and explained that they have hired 80 people and most of the staff are new and learning. He was aware that some peole had had a bad experience due to the staff climbing the learning curve, but he seems determined to make the restaurant a magnet for all foodies between B'ham and Manchester.
They have invested a huge amount in the surroundings. They have a top class chef and caring management. They have become a substantial employer and I am sure that as more people experience what they have to offer they will get a handsome return on their investment. the pricing in the bars and Bistro is no more expensive than most places in and around Stafford. If you havent been yet, check it out. I think that Stafford will become very proud of The Post House.
Almost exactly the same quote as this poster has put on Trip Advisor
Must have been very very pleased ;)

With that in mind, I picked up a little leaflet thingy today about the new Lewis Partnership iPhone App which allows you to make bookings and reservations. I thought that was very forward-thinking.

I remain a little dubious about the veracity of posts on this topic from hit-and-run forumites however I do think that if you have had a particularly good or bad experience somewhere then it is probably more likely that you would want to tell as many people as possible about it. For instance I also posted a review of The Post House on Trip Advisor - an extended rant version of my posting here. I was really, really cross about my visit and wanted to sound-off. If I'd been chuffed beyond belief, I'd have wanted to take every opportunity to congratulate them and recommend to others. However they couldn't even provide me with cake. And nobody comes between Flossietoo and cake.

Tonights express and star has an article about the Post House and how it wants to achieve a Michelin star.

They are apparently working on an iPhone app so customers can place orders, this may sound sarcastic but wouldn't it be easier just to get the staff to serve the customers!

Although I am guilty of tapping away at my phone, if I'm on a night out I really think it is rude and antisocial to sit with your face in the phone. If every one is having to tap away to get attention 'I'm out!'

Really looking forward to our Winter Ball at The Post House tomorrow night! The building is exquisite, the suite looks fabulous, the engagement and passion from the team there has been unrivalled from anywhere we have ever held our annual Ball and the food tasted delicious and looked amazing when a team of us sampled the bespoke menu created for our function. Can't believe all of this is on our doorstep!

Why do we keep getting new users out of the blue promoting / giving good reviews about the post-house

Seems a bit fishy to me

i say "we" i have not been on here for long as you can see by my posts, but been lurking for a quite a while.

I do hope that something which has been planned with such passion and anticipated with such evident excitement, is a great success. Perhaps Ladyanna will tell us all about it? Tomorrow night, you say?

Welcome to the Forum.

Where is your doorstep indyanna? I thought they were aiming at an out of town market not the local doorsteps?

Unless it's some ironic joke it's pretty obvious that there is a member of staff/management from the post house is posting under false pretences, it's not big or clever and gives the post house a bad impression at a time when it needs to be reaching out to the people of stafford. You would think that someone would come out of the long grass and start a positive dialogue with the forum. There is a lot of good will on here for local bussiness but this can soon be lost

this is obviously from someone to do with the post house. i can't say i've been in there yet, but as feedback to their feedback could they at least stop using both past and future tense in a rather confusing way?

I also couldn't agree more with Andy W, these fake bit's of feedback will only damage their reputation, and if anything make me less inclined to have a first visit

I went in with MyCult, is a nice place. Unfortunately he suggested a shot and I spotted a rather nice looking whiskey, cost him a fair bit!

My first visit yesterday. Met friends for what was billed as "coffee and cake". Only one among us succeeded in obtaining actual beverage and cake. Two more managed to get drinks. The rest of us gave up. In just under two hours, no member of staff came anywhere near our table. I went over and tried to order cake. I stood at the counter while on the other side of the counter, two girls chatted animatedly and completely ignored me. I can only assume that the cakes are for display only. One chap, who had been before, knew where the menus were kept, so I had a look (obviously the closest I was going to get to actual food) and thought it looked OK. Nothing special but certainly OK. Felt fed-up, if not actually fed. Noticed the manager of The Swan in there - should think he went away laughing up his sleeves.
In the faint hope that the management of The Post House ever read this, here are some phrases you might want to teach those "stars" you were recruiting: "Hello", "Can I help you?" "Those people have been in since last Tuesday, do you think we should see if they want anything?"
Perhaps this was an attempt to incorporate the building's history - "Waitress number three"...?

I waited ages in there last week with my driving documents in hand and just gave up in the end. I'll get my car tax somewhere else in future ;)

You've sussed me Basil. I shall have to create a new log on and write something really nice about the Post House new.

Many years ago we would pass thru' Dover en-route to France and we always laughed when we'd missed the planned crossing and the attendant would slap a sticker on the windscreen and say "You're a French waiter" .......

Shall we wait for cast iron proof before bandying around accusations?
