Why didn't the bright sparks who enforced the no smoking in public places law include doorways, at least 5m. Most public places you go now you have to make your way through a wall of fag smoke. Just when I thought I could go out and not stink of the disgusting stuff when I got home. Before you smokers start on me, I smoked for 20+yrs sometimes 30 a day if I went out drinking. I have given up for 9 years now, I found it very difficult to stop so I know what it's like. I don't see why I now have to endure everyone elses smoke. If you enjoy smoking consider others that don't and move away from doorways too please. Thank you.

 Congrats on the giving up.

I have been reformed for a year now.

Isn't it suprising how much you realise after quitting how badly it stinks! You never notice how badly you pong till you give up. Specially in winter in the damp - stinks!

 Right back at you and one stafford point.

What smokers don't realise is that if they have kid's, they stink too, and pets. It's disgusting and unfair.

There's no denying that giving up smoking is difficult but people do manage it. More should be done to help stop it than encourage it. Look at the outside shelter they have at Asda and all the faggies out there. Not only smells disgusting but looks terrible too.

"Right on"! have to say I agree totally !Will be having another bash at giving up pretty soon .. I'm finding it's keeping me out of the pubs! Seriously tho am going to knock it on the head assuming the smoking cessation clinic will get me an appointment ..sore point ..

lets see how this one goes ..

When I was thinking about giving up (which was everytime I lay down in bed at night and thought about the pains in my chest, my wheezy breathing) I thought that if I could just get past a week I would do it for good. I eventually bought a weeks work of patches, after that week I went cold turkey. With lots of arguments with people and flying of the handle at people It worked but going to the pub was very difficult as I used to smoke twice as much when drinking but it should be a lot better for some with the ban. Especially as winter is closing in as it will be too blooming cold to go outside.

If you're using Firefox, just increase the text size
View>Text size>increase

or control and +

Don't know what to do in other browsers as Firefox is, IMO, the poodles parts and have no use for others

looks fine to me :?:

do you mean you find the box too small, or that the text is too small? if it's the latter, i don't know if admin has any control over that (beyond totally rewriting the CSS structure of the site)..

if you mean the box is too small - what resolution are you running at? i have the forum running in a window on a 1024x768 display sometimes (which is small by today's standards) and it looks ok.. you are hitting "Post reply" or "Quote" for each message aren't you, and not using the "quick post" box at the bottom of the screen? i hate that thing :grr:

So....not only has Stafford's main Post Office moved into WH Smiths, but everyone's favourite developer Fred Pritchard wants to buy Chetwynd House, the lovely old building where the PO was until yesterday. This simply cannot happen. Fair enough, he's stated his intentions to create a museum charting the history of Stafford, but he probably had to say that to stand any chance of getting his greasy mitts on the place.

:grr:

Do you trust this man? I would ask the good folk of Stafford to walk down Corporation Street, or Crooked Bridge Rd and have a good look at the sad and crumbling edifice that was once St George's. Fraud, took on the project promising the people of Stafford something to be proud of. All we have is a festering eyesore. All I can assume, is that Fraud is waiting for the building to deteriorate to such an extent, that it has to be demolished for safety reasons, (listing or no listing). No doubt Fraud will then be free to build more delightful Neon, blue, green and chrome offices, that will remain empty, just like most of his others.

Get back to Cannock, Fraud, and take your architect with you, leave Staffords building in the hands of someone with a bit of class!

OMG!

Wolverhampton has got it's Christmas lights up.

Sleepy me wondering in to work this morning, everything's a bit blurry. Then something caught my eye. "What's that hanging off the lamp posts? It looks like... it can't be... it's October for crying out loud."

Nearly dropped my coffee.
