I propose a new contest exclusive to the ford. The challenge is to get your picture printed in a local newspaper in relation to a completely fabricated story.

Also, I challenge anybody to give me a bogus story and I will get said story published. If I fail, I will relinquish all borough rights.

getting in a smaller publication might be easier, and then you could approach all the other papers the following week with a "Local paper left red faced after Stafford Forum prank" story

now let's not get carried away, eh? lol.. this could be a long term goal, but to be honest i like the original idea more as a starting point..

surely that means the challenge is open to anyone, and it is up to them to come up with a story & somehow get it featured in the paper

well, according to the stafford town website there are 22 towns called stafford in the united states.
How about I say I've been on a pilgrimage to all of them. I could photoshop a picture of forest gump with his beard next to stafford sign (taken in the ford), and say it's me and was taken in ohio?

Yeah, I discovered that after searching one afternoon.. Hence the addition of the Union Jack in the Forum header (which prompted this thread here)..

I actually contacted that Stafford Town website, to see if he wanted to add a link to the Forum.. He replied this morning, basically saying that this place wasn't family friendly enough to warrant an affiliation with his site.. He also seemed to think that my polite and personal e-mail was part of a spam campaign, which was bizarre

Anyway, that site hasn't been updated since 2004, and was buried on about page 10 of the results when i was searching, so I'm sure it won't be to our detriment!

this is definitely the sort of thing that would make the papers - potentially front page bizniz - but would take a lot of planning and some damn fine acting/american accents..

plus we'd all have two increase our BMI by a factor of 4
