The Wildwood.

I was in the Wildwood this lunchtime and one of the four cask beers was Draught Bass which was the sole one when the pub opened under John Argyle back in 1978, not on freeflow electric pumps like then but by handpumps with unusually tall swan necks so that the beer can be seen being served ABOVE the bar counter, like the keg beers are.

I've been to the wildwood quite a few times in the last few months. You have to book on a Saturday as it's very busy. The food is excellent. They have recently changed the menu and there is no banoffee cheesecake any more but the the other deserts are just as nice. The salmon is lovely - it melts in your mouth and the flavor is delicious. I've tried a few different meals and they are all equally as good.

Is it still the same managers as when I was there last 20 months ago? (before the refurb) It was almost dead in there then. Sounds like it's improved a lot since then.
