The X Factor 2015

I might possibly be the only person on the forum who watches The X Factor (or the only one who admits to watching).

But on the off chance that I am not alone and perhaps just talking to myself :lolsmash:

I wondered what the thoughts were on the new line up of judges?

I think Simon has lost the plot, Cheryl has lost her mojo, Rita is just ok, and Thingy Grimshaw is as dull as ditchwater.

There also seems to be less time spent on showing us the acts and too much back stage/back story.

I only keep watching because I do like to see new talent emerging, even if it is manufactured. I am not an old fogey stuck in a time warp and like to see new people, new acts.

However in my opinion, I prefer to watch it recorded, then I can fast forward through the boring bits.

I much preferred it when it was Simon, Louis, Sharon. I think there could have been better alternatives than Grimmy. I've never been a fan of Rita although she's slowly growing on me. Cheryl's fine & Simon too - allthough I agree some of their mojo seems to have gone awol!

The one difference I'm glad to see this year is the return of the stage auditions for the first round. I like it when there's a standing ovation for an act you thought might be sh**. When they started doing the first auditions in a room it took away this wow-factor. I went to stage auditions last year, and obviously they had all passed the first round so were pretty much all good singers. I like to see the crap acts too.

I'm still a watcher, although for me I tend to prefer "The Voice" now - but even that I lose interest in after the first round of chair turning.

I still watch it and wanted to believe that the format was going to change and it was going to be new and revamped but still be about finding people with amazing voices. The build up to it said, its new it’s exciting we’ve made changes but I can’t see anything new or exciting I think that it’s just the same as it was before.

I don’t know how they could make it any different – it’s listening to people sing and seeing who has the wow factor and a fantastic voice and it’s still the idiots who think they can sing and don’t know how bad they are.

It’s still going strong on viewing figures – we seem to like crap TV

I watch, but recorded like you Carole. Just fast forwarding the breaks on Sunday meant we watched it in less than an hour. There seems very few acts on, and the good ones are too polished, which the cynic in me hates.

I feel duped, I feel cheated, I feel gullible and most of all I feel that I shoud know better by now...after all I have been watching for 12 years.

We watched Sunday nights programme and enjoyed it, lots of great singers.

One..the girl farmer, very glamourous. " I dont look like this when I am mucking out" "The only ones who get to hear me sing are the cows"
"Where I come from in the farming community, making a living from singing isnt a reality".

Turns out she trained at The Northern school of classical singing and drama (or something like that, I forget the exact school), then she has been touring in shows across the globe taking the lead in many of them.

Then I found out that out of 24 acts that made it to judges houses ..22 had been scouted.

So now I shall watch it as an entertainment show rather than a talent show.

I watch it!
I love Simon, Cheryl is ok but she's lost so much weight she doesn't look as if her body can support her head. Rita is alright I suppose and Grimmy is a bit dull I agree, camp as Christmas though which I suppose is a good replacement for Louis.
Been a few good acts so far. Best thing by far though is Olly Murs

If this is true, which wouldn't actually surprise me, then part of me feels slightly gutted and the other part of me wonders why I'm letting that bother me.

Shows like Big Brother are only entertaining because of the ridiculous tasks they are made to do, being rationed on food, filled up with booze and then locked in a house with people that have been deliberately chosen to conflict in personalities. It's all reality TV at the end of the day, so let's face it... if it was genuine reality we probably wouldn't watch it at all! I expect X Factor would be like going down to a local Karaoke on a weekend at the Four Crosses ;)

If 22/24 acts have been scouted maybe we should be thankful that they have.

PS - I'm not saying that I'm a fan of Big Brother. I'd rather watch paint dry than that sh**e. :D

I've not been subjected to it this year.......yet....But I would suspect she's there to just look pretty?

She's not doing too good a job of that then.
I thought she was just there to fawn all over Olly (bitch)

Did you all watch last nights' show?
I think Caroline Flack has been reading Stafford Forum - she must have detected I'm not overly keen on her as she was wearing a 'Je t'aime Jane' Tshirt to show she forgives me :crossarms:

I can’t understand why the entrance to the stage is so small. There’s a light or a barrier that Caroline and Olly stand next to and the contestants have to squeeze past to get onto the stage.

It’s a rubbish set. Why haven’t Caroline and Olly got a proper area to talk to the contestants before and after the stage performance?

There is no format to the process of getting on and off the stage and Caroline and Olly are both just hanging around doing nothing.

I’m finding it really annoying and I’m not enjoying it at all this year.

I've recorded it and watching it now so i can FF past the bad bits - that green pink dress cheryl wears is awful and rita's half a jacket looks stupid. And i noticed Simon has bingo wings when he lift his arms to cl but still love it when someone good comes on.

I used to watch it then someone I know auditioned, before that I always wondered how these awful people think they're really talented. The reason is because they've already passed the first audition with only the producers and were only forwarded so Simon Cowell could profit form embarrassing them live on national television in the name of entertainment. Some of these people clearly have a minor learning or social difficulty and it's unpleasant to watch knowing they've been set up for a fall. The process is the same for BGT though somehow it seems more light hearted and I do still watch that. I gave up on x Factor about 5 years ago.
