The Tiger store has opened in Stafford, trading from the old River Island store.

They are open for 3 months and if it goes well they can take a 5year lease....

What comparable shop is there in town that this one is taking trade away from? If it was another charity shop, I might be inclined to agree

So the shops in Stafford are only comparable with Charity shops?

Hopefully the other pop up shops will compete with each other, but every pop up shop takes trade away from every other shop - there is only so much money in a persons pocket - if they buy some tat from Tiger, they can't buy different tat from Clintons.

Whilst on Charity shops - I see many are selling more and more new stuff - something else that cannot be fair.

I did pop my head in earlier bit too busy to navigate with Master Wearn's beast of a pushchair - but they are excellent places for stocking fillers, bits and bobs, teenages birthdays etc - it did seem to bring a bit of life to the market square too.

I popped in as I love Tiger, however without guidance I came away with only a pizza cutter.

Never likely to buy anything there, or go into it for that matter, but after walking through the almost deserted Guildhall it was good to see that somebody is brave or foolhardy enough to open a new shop in Stafford.
