Tixall Road Closure from September 29th

Drove past the farm end of St Thomas' Lane just and the signs say one way, road closed and access to frontages only. Decided not to chance it in the end and carried on to the Weston Road!

The whole thing is a wretched mess, and in the past couple of weeks the roads seem to be grinding to a halt. From tomorrow it can only get worse...
If you are coming from Baswich towards the farm then you are permitted to go left into St Thomas Lane and then left at the bottom onto Tixall Road. It is one way. I did notice this morning that it says Access to Frontages only which is incorrect. I tried to find somone to explain that the sign is misleading but typically no one about this morning yet the other day there were loads of workmen. However coming back you can't come up Tixall road as that is definitely only access to frontages eg Kensington drive as clarified by photography bloke a few posts ago.

Anybody got any idea what the police could/would do if they stopped you after you had driven along St Thomas' Lane?

I actually saw a car drive along St Thomas' Lane the wrong way on Monday at about 5pm ... only the wrong way according to the (temporary) signs, but is it an offence?
It's tempting to do that lol if it's not an offence as the road is wide enough for two cars. It would only be at the beginning and end that you'd need to allow one car at a time as it's not wide enough for two. Not sure it's a good idea though to encourage it on the forum ha ha.

Did you actually drive down there to see if you can get through or if it's been coned off? I was towing a car on a trailer yesterday and didn't fancy trying to perform a 3 point turn on that narrow road if it was blocked off!

Yes I drove down there this morning. We are talking about me coming from Baswich Lane with the Tilcon Ave industrial estate on my left, over the blind bridge, to the farm (the farm is on my right), the farm which is advertising fishing on river sow? Then going left onto St Thomas Lane? If so then yes. I've driven left there in the past week or so and this morning with no issue and it's one way. You get to the bottom and turn left onto Tixall road. If that's what you mean then Yes it's fine and quite safe.

Quick update - it appears while I've been away over the weekend the lights at the Tixall Road end of St Thomas Lane have changed

The lights for traffic heading up the Tixall Road to access Kensington Drive have been moved further back along the Tixall Road, so they are now on the other side of the Wolseley Road junction. The lights are therefore also now controlling traffic coming in and out of Wolseley Road onto the Tixall Road

I'm not sure if this in any way effects traffic coming down St Thomas Lane - I doubt it does, except perhaps causing a longer wait for the lights to change - I'll try and see if anything else has changed, it was very late when I got back last night so I couldn't really see properly
