Today I saw...

proactive

Enjoying a drop of red.
Today I saw a Sports bar in Manchester where the dress code is no trainers and no tracksuit bottoms.
Is there anyone in Manchester who doesn't wear trainers and tracksuit bottoms? I thought it was the law.

Went to a do at the Lowry last year and a fair number of people were wearing them at the wedding reception in the room down the corridor.

Me but most customers attending a Sports bar are likely to be wearing such attire regardless if they actually do any form of sport or exercise. Particularly today for example when there's another match on TV before the United match.

Seems like a poor business plan to exclude the majority of your potential footfall based on their attire.

Could you see how busy it was? They may not be too bothered, if the throughput is still adequate.

It wasn't busy at all when we went past about an hour ago (just before the Palace match was due to start).

It is relatively new so they may relax their policy once they are a bit more established.

A hot air balloon high above Tamar Lake set against a clear blue sky with no wind. Stunning.

...the Sandon Road disco street light in operation.

The second one up, outbound, from Fairfield Court.

A high-pressure sodium light, with an inverted dome underneath it - the dome being half-full of rainwater.

The rainwater is acting as a lens and being sloshed around by the oscillations of the lamppost in the windy conditions.

Spooky, psychedelic shapes swooping around on the road surface.

Today I saw a van with ALE vehicle on the front doors and I thought what a great idea "beers on wheels", then as it turned the corner I read "abnormal load escort vehicle" on the back doors :)
