Tinkerbell
Well-Known Forumite
Sadly - after 20 years of Vauxhall loyalty - I have finally sold on my 12 month old Insignia.
We purchased this car from Vision Vauxhall in Stafford - after being told it had one previous owner. What the garage forget to tell you is that the majority of their nearly new cars are ex rentals - and previously owned by Enterprise (ERAC) or Provincial Securities (another leese hire company) - The unsuspecting purchaser only finds out the true history when you get the logbook back with the change of ownership.
We purchased the Insignia in June 10 and the car was continually back in Vision Vauxhall having to have work done :- including clutch, flywheel, brakes, handbrake failed, controls falling into the door, electric windows and mirrors stopped working and a constant heavy vibration from the steering wheel. These faults were as a direct result of the overuse/thrashing of the previous owner Enterprise.
If you do buy a car from Vauxhall make sure you see the log book and find out who previously owned the car.
I feel very annoyed that Vision mislead customers - as their one owner description really meant many hundreds of people jumping in and out of the car and totally abusing it - which then led to us having all the problems when we purchased it.
We have now purchased another make of car from another garage - and their salesmen were honest about the previous history of their cars (i.e. ex leese cars or privately owned)
At the end of the day ex leese cars are alot cheaper - and you can purchase these cars from car supermarkets - but you do not expect to find the same sort of cars on Vauxhall main dealer forecourts.
Please be warned - finally managing to part ex this car has cost us alot of money - to get a reliable car.
VISION OUGHT TO BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES - but really they dont give a stuff !
