It really was something to behold - the town centre was absolutely rammed.
Are 'nah' sayers slightly less 'committed' than 'nay' sayers?
During my excursion into the countryside yesterday, I came across a chap undergoing some equestrian training - I am fully confident that the horse was a neigh-sayer..It really was something to behold - the town centre was absolutely rammed.

Some were, yes. Were any of the torch bearers actually from Stafford?
TBF to the old chap, the 'knock-on' effects are likely to be awe-inspiringly awful - just because the roads will 're-open' at six doesn't mean that the poor barstards on them will be going anywhere in any sort of a hurry.
I'm sorry to say it but i'm with your old man - if you don't actually need to be on the road, stay off it. Regardless of where, when, how etc.
