Up there at the min, only place nearby I could think of I'd get some sun still. Not eating, just fancied a drink. Looks pleasant enough if you only look at the side that ain't green ;)

cheers withnail for sorting the link.The chorizi chicken is good but the pork escalope is better.
Also you can have your meals and wine without screaming shouting football supporters.

Last time I was in The Shirehorse I had the chorizo chicken and the sweet potato mash tasted like they'd just reheated day old potato in the microwave, and the chorizo was so thick and solid that my knife couldn't cut it.

It was my first and only bad experience in there, and I hope it was just an off day.

Some pubs have better microwaves and change the oil in the deep fryers more frequently than others. Otherwise in the main you're probably right.

Hi Shire Horse, just had an E-Mail regards your latest offers. What weight are the 28 day matured rump steaks? Are they large thin ones or smaller thicker ones?

The Rumps are generally 9oz precooking unless you are having the lunchtime rump which is 7oz,These are larger thinner steaks usally 1/2 inch or so thick.
Yes we do have good microwaves but by no means are or chefs ala ping chefs and the fryers get changed every couple of days.

The Shire Horse Fun Day Saturday 17th July begins 12.00 noon and will extends well into the evening.

We will have live music,beer tent ,bbq,white elephant stall,adult and childrens tombola , face painting, vintage motorcycles and much much more.



This is to raise much needed funds for The Donna Louise Childrens Hospice Trust

Went here for mothers day, food was great, but what caught my eye was the flyer/adverts for a revamp. Appears there getting new Chefs. The food advertised looked very good, perhaps just a new menu.

The surf and turf looks very nice though.

*edit* looks at there site its perhaps the end of the Autum & Winter menu on time for the equinox​
