Another boozer is set for demise when the wessy shuts
in May. Dont know if this is the correct area for this,
but I thought it maybe of interest. By all accounts, it
will be a care home for the elderly. Bit like the bar in
there I think.....

Hooray!!!! Sorry if its your local but I've been hating that building since 1979, truly ugly as far as buildings go. Highfields is in need of a facelift. Hope they do something with the empty park across from the shops whilst they're at it.

I hope that it is bulldozed - new housing will then likely go in its place.

However ... it's likely that it'll close and then remain boarded up for months and make the area look even worse than it does now.

Never been in the place, but looks like a right dive from outside. Whatever they put there has got to be an improvement. Agree with Miss T about the area opposite the shops and that rediculous graffiti which I suppose some think of as art! Bulldoze the lot and start again.
