Thanks for the info, but just to clarify, are you confirming that Weston Hall is open or closed? I assumed the former, but am confused as to how you lost half your deposit if it is still open and the booking is going ahead as planned. :?:

Congratulations on getting engaged; best of luck for the wedding, and beyond! :D
I can confirm that it is Open as of Sunday 6th :)

The company that was owned by Steve Redford (Weston Events Ltd) which leased the Hall and operated it has disappeared (well, Steve has disappeared) so from what I gather, the new guy has started a new business. The new guy is the previous Italian head chef and explained that because it is a whole new company there, that they were doing their best to honour wedding bookings, however would only be able to honour half of our deposit as the previous owners have left them with £50k worth of bookings and ran off with the cash.
Saying that the staff were awesome in suggesting ways to make it up to us, and if all goes ahead as discussed - we'll have an amazing day at Weston Hall.

I heard rumours the place was in trouble and visit steve a couple of weeks ago to put my mind at ease, and he assured us nothing was wrong, what a crook.

Hopefully the enthusiasm of the new management will show in their efforts to get people back through the doors, the promise of a tapas grill in the stafford area sounds awesome!
I think that is a fair description of going bust

Sounds like the chef is going to be a busy bee

I wish all, all the best

( apart from the alleged runners of course - and I wish them to make amends in time )

Just to let anyone know who has a wedding booked at weston hall.....find somewhere else quickly!!!
It is closed.
There was a new guy running it back in November who is known as 4 different names and said he was honouring peoples deposits and reassured us that everything was fine however he has now done a runner and is closed again.

First of all I think credit should be given to the fact effort was given in trying to honour deposits that were taken for weddings by the new mnagement. \They say that the road to hell is paved with good intention though eh? I really am sad to hear that it is now closed again...not just for anyone who has booked for their wedding which will be devestating (if not a test on couples life skills of resolving problems together) but for every one. It is a great historic building but needs massive investment and if the owner is not willing or able to put the investment in then maybe should think of selling or I fear it will become a broken down relic.

Not showing up at the moment - but, maybe it takes a while to get through to the public list.

I'm waiting for the Sudbury Hall, wedding brochure to be done by them. I have paid to be in that one. It's due next month. You should be ok, they seem decent.

Weston hall closed announcement was in paper last night. The new management that took over from the old, had no comment
