Wow.

Unfamiliar as i was with Shakespeare's take on this, but familiar with what actually happened, this has been absolutely fascinating. The 2 Henry's are quite informative as to the why's and who's, bit of monkeying around with chronology, foreshortening and all that, a few things left out, but on the whole quite fairly, even ambiguously, told.

Dicky 3 is a straight up stitch up. Interestingly i think Shakespeare embeds an admission of it -

Compare dead happiness with living woe;
Think that thy babes were sweeter than they were,
And he that slew them fouler than he is.
Bettering thy loss makes the bad causer worse.
Revolving this will teach thee how to curse.

- which is perhaps the only moment of ambiguity in the piece.

Fantastic viewing whichever way you look at it - Benadryl Crumplezone is as awesome as you'd expect him to be - bravo the Beeb.

just been watching this series back to back from series 1 over the last 2 weeks, just got the last couple from series 4 to watch now.
great show, all the names from the original cell block H and how they got there. great bunch of characters in this and great storylines.
