Any good?Michael Palin in North Korea
It was interesting.Any good?
Sheer coincidence, I've just bought, as in 10 minutes ago, a jar of Korean barbecue marinade.Michael Palin in North Korea
There was a murder on nuclear sub ten years ago - but it was tied up in Southampton at the time and the detection process was fairly short.Been hearing a lot lately about an upcoming BBC murder thriller series called 'Vigil.' Apparently the murder takes place aboard a Vanguard class nuclear powered submarine and a lady detective is dropped onboard via helicopter to investigate.
Vanguard class subs are Trident submarines. (Think ... end of the world if they're called to action.)
From the same production company as Line of Duty and Bodyguard. Although I think all submariners are mad bastards, I've always been fascinated by these boats.
Sometime in the Autumn for broadcast, but there seems to be a lot of secrecy about it. I'll be there with my TV remote for sure ....
Tridents are more like 6.000 mile range - pretty much a whole hemisphere to fire them from - and there will be areas of interest east of Moscow.I suppose it depends on where the aircraft went down exactly. The strategic subs will only be in the waters inside the range of their missiles. I sailed with a Chief Officer once who was an ex RN officer on Polaris strategic subs. I asked him whereabouts he patrolled and he replied that that was still classified. But, he added, if you take the range of a Polaris as between 2 and 3 thousand miles, and draw a circle of that radius centred on Moscow on your world map, we were in the 'wet' bits.
I remember it! With Russell Hunter as his sidekick - Lonely. The first episode of a new series: The Equaliser. This time with Queen Latifah as Robyn McCall. I like her, but the episode seemed a bit too slick and formula for my taste. I liked Denzel Washington in the recent films, but for me The Equaliser will always be Edward Woodward. His version had a darker edge to it, perhaps a left over from his job as Security Services heavy in Callan, which took a very dark approach to that world. (Many on here might not remember Callan, I would dearly like to watch those series, and the spin off film again.)
I'm not a fan of Clint Eastwood Westerns, but some films he's been in he has been epic, The Mule and Gran Tourino being 2 of them...Clint Eastwood in 'The Mule'.
