Roasted and salted broad beans.
Really?! I've never heard of such a product. Are they a Holland and Barratt job? More to the point, are they nice? I like broad beans.

Talking about different foods, one of my neighbours is from Malawi, and tomorrow night he's cooking some traditional Malawian fayre for the Castletown Massive! I have a bag of various ingredients including okra, gari (which looks like a cracked wheat flour), some bird's eye chillies....should be interesting! I'll report back on Thursday.

So far, 2 Weetabix and a sausage (x2), bacon, egg and hash brown sarnie, with brown sauce, au naturalement! I'm planning a Chinese take-away at lunch, and then, after my first trip to the pub for a month after work, a chicken burger and chips will no doubt be called for.

Been eating quite well just lately though. My pasta with home-made pesto, with cheese-topped roasted vegetables was a highlight the other night. Look ma, no meat!

Courgettes, orange pepper, red onion, with a bit of parsley, oregano and garlic. Bit of vintage mature cheddar on top. Melt it. Bob's your uncle.

Check out Jamie Oliver with his lah de dah london type veggies.

Seriously we should start a forum cookery corner* where people can post up recipes, cooking tips etc.

*this from a purely selfish point of view as i ain't the worlds greatest in the kitchen, i save that for the bedroom innit ;)

I suggest Jimbob starts the thread with his pasta/pesto/veggie ting then he can give us details on the home made pesto!

It'll be a curry on the last night (Monday) at the firestation, it always is! Its the only time we eat togther now they have sacked the cooks.

I am catering bod, and buy all the ingredients and make it from fresh. Chicken and Sweet Pepper with a few mushies thrown in. Rice and Nan of course, it isn't exactly traditional but it hits the spot. And all for £1.50 a head.

I am supping a very boring vegetable soup for my lunch!

Just eating my Chinese, which is basically a long foil container from the all you can eat Chinese over the road from work, into which I've stuffed:

- special fried rice
- egg fried rice
- vegetable noodles
- some other kind of noodles
- chicken curry
- chicken with green peppers in black bean sauce
- pork in black bean sauce
- BBQ ribs
- satay chicken
- satay sauce
- chilli oil
- chips
- spring rolls
- some chewy pork thang
- sweet and sour chicken balls
- sweet and sour sauce

and anything else I could wedge in. Tasted gooooooooooood.
