We had a really busy and exhausting weekend.
We’d planned a village afternoon tea in our garden to raise funds for Bednall Church.
We got quite a lot of help from villagers ranging from people making cakes, scones, sandwiches, lending us china, helping us move chairs and tables, put up bunting, donate raffle prizes, sell tickets, serve food and drink, clear up, wash up, tidy away.
Tickets were £7.50 for sandwiches, cakes, scones with jam and cream. A selection of 9 different teas or coffee if preferred.
If people wanted prosecco or beer that was available on a pay what you want/make a donation basis.
The sun shone all day, and we welcomed nearly 60 people into our garden.
Getting ready, this is the breeze house, we love this feature and it was the first seating area to get chosen on Saturday.
Here are a few photos of the garden later in full swing.
People were very generous, either buying raffle tickets or with their drinks donations.
We raised £920 which we’re all thrilled with.
Yesterday was spent returning everyone’s tea pots, cake stands and various bits and bobs, and getting the garden and kitchen straight again
Totally worn out but very happy with the end result.
