Mostly the fact that I didn't have to cook it!

But seriously, I'm not a big fan of meat, I've got less & less taste for it as I've got older, the veg curry was lovely, courgettes, peppers, onions, mushrooms & peas was a really lovely change.

The keema naan had beef mince in (is it usually lamb? ) but it was very thin, and very tasty too. Just right for me.

    :)
    :):)
I did think that too... scummy as in dirty and unpleasant?
So I'm guessing that it was a typo and that the meal was scrummy

It's minime's birthday today, her birthday tea request was could she make puff pastry pizzas....

I'm not a fan of puff pastry, so mine are French bread pizzas.... Waiting for them all to cook...

I've got to say, its so unusual for anyone to ever want to cook on their own birthday, I've lost count of the times I've sulked because we can't have time off work & I've ended up cooking on my own birthday tea, and we've eaten out or had takeaway another day.

Anyhow, that's 2 of my children that have cooked for me in the last week..... 1 to go (influence) :bravo:

Home made lamb and okra rogan josh tonight. Called in to the Everest shop on Tedder Road for okra. So much better than the supermarket offerings, if they have it.
Whilst in there I spotted the large garlic naan breads so picked up a pack of three.
Absolutely bangin' naans, highly recommended. IMO this shop should be supported, an asset to the town.

Was it just a Garlic naan? Or garlic & coriander? I can't stand coriander, but it's worth a trip if there's no coriander in it. Missing my favourite peshwari naan, can't find them in shops anywhere..

Fresh battered halloumi and chips tonight.

For desert, battered Mars bars* in honour of the colony we are in.

A nice little red is currently chambréing.

    * No, not really. Fruit salad actually.

Tomorrow and Saturday will be my gorgeous chicken pie, if I do say so myself. I have acquired a biscuit cutter in the shape of a cats head, I shall be dotting a few of those out of pastry on top.
