are you kidding?? i was born 1979 as well, and miss t was born even earlier in the decade, so that's irrelevant! i prefer to interpret the song as "if you're a child of the eighties" rather than specifically "born" in the eighties..

edit: whoops, just noticed it was noir that posted originally, not MISS T.. sorry, biznotches!

The Grinderman record.

I'm trying to do my best to avoid the radio at the moment. Especially after last night and Zane Lowe's two hours of bollocks.

Not heard Gwen's track but I can't say it'd please my ears. Sorry.

New Young Pony Club - Ice Cream

you'll recognise this tune off some advert or another, but i just saw the video on e4 and heard the full tune for the first time.. this shiz is straight outta the 80s, complete with bad perms and video overlays.. love it :D

edit: i've just remembered which advert it's from - i thought it was hair gel or something, but it's Intel Core 2 Duo!

My MP3 Player (Birthday Prezzie and only now getting the hang of it, synch? rip? wtf?) has been populated with an eclectic mix.
Most of my original 50's/60's Ska
70's Punk
Early 80's pretentious Stuff (Sheffield Sound!)
Jack Johnson
Lilly Allen
Arctic Monkeys (Sheffield Sound II!)
Paulo Nutini
Nina Simone

As I write I have just had White Riot by the Clash, followed by New Rose The Damned, and I will soon experience the extacy of Orgasm Addict and Teenage Kicks! Heaven! it just doesn't get any better than this!

Alternatively stick all the above on random, and you never know what's coming next, brilliant!

Regina Spektor, really quirky songs and a great voice.

A Perfect Circle, Mer de Noms, not new but brilliant album

And last but not least, Gym Class Heroes! Mainly because I fancy the singer.

The latest Big Business record. Sublime.

The sound of 71,000 Utd fans last night singing in unison. Hairs on the back of your neck moment. Still buzzing.

Wasps - feel my wrath!
Greetings

Just popped on to recommend 12 by patti smith
tis an album of covers but a very nice collection .. teen spirit and gimme shelter and white rabbit are exceptional. anyone who remembers patti smith from the 70s sort of late punk era will be familar.. if not find, beg, borrow, steal, "Horses" ..top album ..!!

nyway for anyone who hasnt heard either of these ..then

do do ! you owe it to your musical self ( if you have one obviously!)

toodles

is this that jefferson airplain tune that almost every drug related film in history has as its soundtrack? that is a brilliant, brilliant tune..

the sugababes first release - "overload" - reminds me of it big time (although far more "pop", obviously, and less ethereal)..
