Brown wheelie bins can travel remarkably fast when they want. Watch out on the Lichfield Rd where one tried to career into my car...

I'm looking after the neighbours cat while they are on holiday, and luckily decided to leave him inside today with the winds. Saw their kiddies tent and other belongings ,which had somehow blown over their 6 foot gate ,blowing past my front window, grabbed them to put them back around the back.....their whole heavy shed roof has blown right off ! I had just walked past where it landed at an angle, about 20 minutes earlier, whilst putting their bin back through the gate. Could have had my head chopped off had I been walking in that spot at the wrong time!

Just been attacked by a conker tree, rather painful being showered with them as I had no choice but to walk underneath...the kids don't have to throw sticks up at them today!

Big winds - possibly a bit of activity here tomorrow...

Well I could have told anybody without a shadow of a doubt that it would absolutely and relentlessly pour down and blow a gale today.
How do I know these things?

It generally does when I’ve paid a small fortune to have my hair done.

On a similar subject, I think it would be a good idea if shops and supermarkets kept a reserved car parking space right near the door, especially for ladies that have just had their hair done.

Another nice touch, I think is, when it’s tipping it down, if the shops had someone stand near you, with an umbrella over aforementioned hairdo while woman is trying to put a trolleyload of shopping in the boot of her car.

Without me going on “mundane facts about my day “, you can probably hazard a guess how my day has gone.

Doesn't your chauffeur come to the door to meet you then :)

I'm not quite sure how the parking space idea would work but it's a good idea especially with the amount ladies' hairdressing costs.

Re the umbrella wielding shop staff, again another nice customer focused idea and it would encourage people to revisit if this type of service were offered.

I vaguely remember Asda staff helping people get to their cars in heavy snow many years ago but I don't think they had umbrellas.

There is just no excuse for being so unprepared in these modern times.

Deirdre is causing difficulties in the Irish Sea.

Brings back bad memories....My one and only midnight Sealink crossing across the Irish sea was a nightmare in gale force winds and rough seas. The doors were locked to prevent anyone going on deck , the ship full of drunken bodies spewing up, including me (except I was sober) , and I vowed never to go by sea again .
