    Hi
Our window cleaner is moving on and we've received a letter from the company who has bought him out. They've written that the price he was charging us was pretty cheap and that it'll be going up by £1 - £2 in the next couple of months. We're paying £8.50 at the moment for a 3 bed semi and 2 sides of a conservatory and are cleaned every 4 weeks. I feel that price is enough as it is already, am I being unreasonable? Can I ask what is everybody else paying at the moment?

My guy does our 4 bed semi, inc. wiping frames and two velux roof lights on ground floor for £12.50 every 4 - 6 weeks.
He travels from Stafford to beyond Chebsey for this.
He bells me when he's going to turn up and I don't feel the need to chase him.
    Would recommend him.

    i'm paying £12 every 3 months, that's for a semi-detached 3 bed.

I doubt anyone needs a window clean every 8 weeks!

I use AFSystems who text me a day before they arrive to clean the windows just so's i know, i originally got them in to clean my eaves/facia things (highly recommend, no excuse for clean windows yet filthy facias) and they charged £30 or so for that and did a very good job so thought i'd get them on board with the windows.

before this i was having the very same problem as The Terrace, nobody seems to want a strong customer base 'these days'.

EDIT: AFSystems are now called StaffordWindowCleaning

We used EH Windows for a while but they weren't exactly doing the best job in the world, realised how bad when I had an afternoon free just after they'd been and decided to do all my insides as well, they were charging £14 every 8 weeks for a 3 bed semi and it was taking them less than 10 mins from pulling up to pulling out the drive again. I asked them not to come back again, although we've not replaced them yet, this was about 4 months ago and I could really do with fining someone! Who do you use Catabatic? We're out of Stafford in a similar direction to you and a lot wont come out this far.

We pay £5 when they are done, about monthly; for our 3 bed semi', with dormas, in Rowley Park/Highfields. We have had them for years and it has not gone up in the last few years years, but I must keep quiet, as last time I revealed that on here, I was shot down, and branded a liar, "to cheap, don't believe you!"

    Hiya Supernova!
My name is Josh and I run a window cleaning company in stafford. We use traditional cleaning, no.pole sprays, if you'd like me to give you a free quote, let me know how many windows, and if they are plain or if they have lead diamonds :)

We've been using E. Holt ( Clearview Commerical) after a recommendation from here, no complaints so far.

I've also been trying to get a window cleaner for over 18 months now, I think I was a little hasty in getting rid of the guys we used to have, although when they switched to using the long poles instead of getting up the ladder, the windows weren't being cleaned properly and the £14 I was being charged seemed a little steep for 8 minutes (not very hard) work.

I must have made phone calls and appointments with 15 or so window cleaners in the area during this time and not one person has bothered to come out to me, I have waited in on three separate occasions for someone to give me a price and each time no one turned up. My windows are now looking a bit mucky and I could do with someone asap really but I’m out in the sticks a bit so that’s probably part of the problem, so much for the recession being blamed for unemployment – more like people don’t want the work!

Just for reference for anyone else looking for a window cleaner in Stafford, I recently built a website for James Perkins who is a really nice lad and very reliable. Fast growing and easily the best window cleaner in Stafford. For more info: http://www.james-perkins.co.uk
