PeterD we are sorry you feel this way however I do hope my initial post in this thread explains how you may have received the incorrect information. A lot of information gets misconstrued and this certainly is a prime example.

em505, I’m sorry about that I will look in to it today for you. However our policy regarding social media networking is that if comments are unhelpful, not constructive or unnecessarily derogatory towards the business and these are posted on several occasions we feel it necessary to block this user.

John Marwood, I am sorry that the 4 seats have offended you on your visit. The high usage of our seats show how many people are using them on a regular basis. The manufacturers are surprised they have not survived the wear and tear. However these are in the process of being changed as quickly as possible by the manufacturer.

Must be a slow process..

I am told those seats now include the sofa ..upturned ...so contemporary...

Also informed you have a problem with damp or mold too on your bar ceiling.. or maybe again she was mishtaken, it could of course be trend setting , a bit like my pebble dashed house ..from the inside?

Called in here the other Friday teatime. A pint of lager cost £4.35, compared to £3.60 in The Swan - need to sort that out chaps.

Keeps the riffraff out tbh, unless you're going out specifically to get pissed then I'd happily pay that not to have to drink around tracksuit wearing brohams.

Got to be some middle ground on drinks prices. I steer well clear of Weatherspoons due to some of the knuckle draggers that the cheap drinks attracts. But then my eyes water when I buy drinks at the Post House or the Swan. Last time at the Swan a bottle of cider and a vodka and lemonade was £8.80 compared to a pint of blonde and a vodka and lemonade was £5.30 at the Rose and Crown.
Now I accept that the Post House and the Swan are what you call premium places and you expect to pay extra but at those prices we only go in for special occaisions

I was very happy to see bottles of Wyld Wood up at the shire horse, but a little deflated when I found out they were £3.95 each.

Very observant John Marwood, unfortunately we had a leak in a pipe above. Thankfully all mended now!

We went to The Post House a few weeks ago after we’d been out for a meal elsewhere, we called in at around 10pm and while my husband went to the main bar to get a glass of wine, I decided to go for a cocktail, I have seen the behaviour of the cocktail waiter towards other people before and I have been quite shocked at his rude behaviour but to this point we’d never come up against his nasty side.

I waited for ages, it was at least half an hour but the bar was busy, I was looking forward to enjoying my cocktail and didn’t mind waiting, I remember being told they will make up cocktails that aren’t on the menu so I asked for a ‘Pink Lady’ from the menu: vodka, grapefruit etc. and I then asked for a ‘manly’ cocktail for my husband with whisky but no ginger. The first thing the cocktail waiter did was put a raw egg into a glass, thinking this was for my husband I immediately told him we didn’t want a drink with raw egg in it because having seen it go into the glass I knew he wouldn’t drink it. Despite the fact that I was repeatedly saying this he continued to ignore me and carry on with making the drink which actually turned out to be mine – despite no mention of the egg on the menu. He put the drink in front of me and said ‘just try it’ in a rather rude tone over and over again, after repeating several times that I didn’t want it he huffed, swore and said he would only charge for the whisky drink and refused to make me another. At that point we walked out without either drink and we haven’t been back since. I found the whole experience horrible and humiliating, and how a person with such little people skills is in such a customer service role is beyond belief.

Bob, we sincerely apologise for the actions of this member of staff, please may I reassure you this member of staff has moved on and is no longer working for The Post House. We are pleased with our new team that we have been training for the last few months and we can assure you that you will experience a difference on your next visit.

Just to clarify many cocktails use raw eggs as part of their ingredients and is perfectly safe.

Some people are allergic to eggs, so it should be pointed out as part of the ingredients. Doesn't need to be a warning just on the description so people can make an informed decision.

That's great as a statistic (unverified), but if I came in with a nut allergy (for example) and informed the bar tender that a drink which may contain nuts was something I didn't want/couldn't drink for medical reasons, that's then something which should be addressed. Whether or not the drink was meant to contain nuts is irrelevant. Making what you offer available to as many people as possible...hmm...there's an idea!

I'm coming along for steak night tomorrow and am looking forward to seeing how the reviews on quality & customer service match up. I'm taking my dad, who is a massive food snob. Could be interesting!

edit: 'statistic' was the wrong word to use. 'Claim' would be more appropriate.

I'll be interested to see how you got on, hopefully better than we did.
Well...in the last 24 hours I've changed my mind several times between here and Pastiche. TPH has the offers, yet expensive booze....Pastiche has the menu choice & the reviews, yet a canteen-style atmosphere (from what I recall). Pastiche also seem to be suffering from TPH's recent "...communication issues which will be resolved"...i.e. nobody answers the phone OR the email contact form jobber.

In fact, based on the above, we may well just go for some nice beer and the guarantee of a fantastic meal at Narvana!

Come on, restaurants of Stafford, ANSWER YOUR PHONES! If you offer something (a contact number/contact form) then you should make sure it's working. TBF, TPH (& other TLAs) did answer the phone today and yesterday.
