I remember being given a small book of log tables, trig ratios and so on at school

I read it from cover to cover ... but I have to tell you, I couldn't any sense of the story. :fap:

My very mundane fact today was I decided to give the office a thorough going over.

This meant going through every file, dusting shelves, pulling out desks, moving bookcases, shredding documents, sorting, filing, tidying.

Moving the desk uncovered the most unbelievable amount of dust.

If it's true that seventy per cent of dust is human skin then there was probably enough dust under/behind the desk to make a whole another human being.
Or possibly several.

I have spent much of the week shouting.

Except for Thursday.

I have more shouting to do tomorrow.

Sunday should be shout-free, unless i choose to shout in my spare time.

Monday and Tuesday next week i shall be back to shouting on a professional basis.

Tonight, I found a board lifter.
ae235

Very handy for fitting doors, etc. I've often considered buying one, but never have.

'Mine'* has the stirrup part missing, but I can live with that.

* Unless you know anybody who lost one between 8pm and 11pm tonight.

I did falter a little by dipping a large block of dark chocolate in my coffee until it turned to a more liquid consistency, I like to think it was a kind of chocolate soup.

In my 'outward bound' days, a standard warm energy drink for winter excursions was a Mars bar melted into a cup of hot milk.

don't mention the blinds

:o I've found so much dust whilst clearing my parents house, hope it wasn't mostly dead skin that I was handling :barf:

In 2 years time the payment protection racket will likely come to and end

If you have up until now ignored the desperate phone calls from dodgy sales people to explore a claim I would not blame you

If however you have had a shop or bank card over the last few years you may wish to now explore a possible claim

Why now?

Even if you are only owed a few quid there maybe a compound interest rate of 8 %

Over 10 years a compound interest rate of 8% on a shiĺling would leave you will a claim of 28 million sheckles

Minus 40% finders fee of course

So

A pie

And gravy

Well worth it

Went round next door to feed the cat this morning......little sod had only been having an overnight feast ! :o After scoffing last nights teatime pouch down straight away and begging for more , took matters into his own paws and helped himself out of the box on the kitchen side .Only tiny morsels left in the corners of the torn open pouch on the kitchen floor .

Sex Ed lessons have started again...

The students were very well behaved!

The teachers in the staff room however were terrible!

I had to confiscate 'Jimmy' for fear of injury (plastic-penis-to-eye related accidents)

Note to self - do not leave contraceptive display kit unattended in staff room...

I have been having an ongoing technological failure with a very expensive piece of equipment, after I made some very minor "improvements" to it. The issue has been going on for over a week now, and worsening, so I decided that, if it still wasn't working properly by Sunday, then I would have to bite the bullet and involve some (expensive) professional help. It was not going to be cheap.

I woke up this morning with a doubt in my head that I might have replaced a part slightly incorrectly - so I looked, before calling for help, and then took the part out - then put it back in properly.

It all works now.

The problem had manifested itself as a software issue, stopping the machine from working properly - but the actual software problem was in my head.

Sleeping on things really does work, often in less than a week. 'You' only see what is sent to the 'screen', the CPU is churning away all the time...

I am away to London as we speak. £200 return on the train and I am glad my company are picking that up. I am going to teach an upscale suit retailer how to use Cash Management on their ePos. What a time to be alive.

On my other forum, there has been talk of having some sort of Christmas gathering, somewhere in the capital city. Just for a laugh, I (jokingly) suggested a venue that I know nothing about, other than its location, from looking on Google Maps. It has turned out to be the most popular suggestion and even has some historical connections with a group who form a large section of the forum's membership. It looks like it is going ahead there now...

I only suggested it because it is right opposite the main police station, for want of a better description, and it would be handy if things kick off.

As the only people to have our new landline number are hubby and Son, thought it was son messing about pretending to be a pizza delivery driver on the other end of the phone checking our address, so played along for a few minutes.... Turns out it was an actual pizza bloke after all! But strangely asking for the same name ( John Simcox) as other random callers have rung up after :strange:

Glad I don't give any personal info away to callers...

Cost a lot less than that when we went to London on Chiltern Railways earlier in the year.
