As I was nearing the end of a long drive home from Preston today, I couldn't help but ponder this sign in Gnosall.

Why would anyone want to go in the wrong direction to Stafford, especially when it adds on 3 miles?

Enjoying a drop of red.
Currently waiting patiently for my 'minder' to collect me on her way home after an after-work pint or three at the Floodgate.

As she's still not here I will have to force another pint down.

Should be fixed now, although might not be pinpointed quite on the sign.
Comes up pointing at the floor for me, but it is a bit of a weird sign - the pretty way?

Husband is away abroad on business for a few days so I'm home alone.

How to pass the time?

Well as it happens, not one to let the grass grow, last night some friends and I caught a train to Birmingham, had a meal at Strada and then saw Rob Brydon at Symphony Hall. Great show, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Tonight I'm just about to have a lovely bath, the alcoholic fizz is already open. Then it's Indian food and catching up on recorded Tv and watching stuff that he wouldn't enjoy because there are no car chases.

We've only been married 8 months and I love the bones of him, but honestly it's so lovely to have a few days to myself.

I could possibly slip away for a couple of hours ....

Ooh, we were there, third row from the front, where were you? He was brilliant!

We ate in the Chinese Quarter like we normally do when going to the Glee Club.

We were on the left side about 10 rows from the front.

Strada had a great deal... buy a cold drink (wine, beer, etc) and you get a pizza, pasta or risotto for £5.
I had a gorgeous seafood tagliatelle.

You weren't the guy that went on the stage were you?

We're seeing Texas at The Symphony Hall on Sunday, and it would be nice to go somewhere a bit different to eat, any ideas?

Not sure that it's "different" but when we go to Symphony Hall we go to Strada because it's just within the building, and therefore no worries about rushing. It's a 30 second walk,

Also if you google "Strada discount voucher" before you book then invariably you get a good deal.

Sadly, I don't drink alcohol.
