A small horsebox i.e. for only one horse as opposed to one for a Shetland pony, being pulled by a driving instructor's car.

The horsebox had an L plate on the back. Is it legal to pull a trailer on an L plate?

I assume it is someone being trained to drive pulling a trailer. although anyone can drive a vehicle with an L plate on. It is compulsory for someone with a provisional licence, but optional for anybody already licenced.

There are additional licence issues for more recently qualified drivers - https://www.gov.uk/towing-with-car

I vaguely remember the police pulling drivers up if their car had an L plate but no passenger and I'm sure they used to issue tickets if you were a qualified driver but your car was bearing a L plate whilst you were driving.

Driving instructor moving the vehicle between pupils' locations might have a struggle with that...?

Today I went to see Blade Runner 2049. I was always a big fan of the original and wasn't sure about a sequel. But I have to say it's kept to the dark enigmatic style of the original. Also they've not made a story about special effects (which are superb) but about the characters and they haven't just recycled the original story, but put in a nice twist.
All in all thumbs up. Borders on the very grim though, as did the original.

Noted but I meant the small L plate signs you attach to your car not the professional instructors.
Indeed, but until the advent of the magnetic ones, they tended to be self-adhesive and/or tie-on. It was quite possible to be stopped, on the suspicion that you might be an unaccompanied provisional licence holder, but I've never heard of anybody ever being sanctioned for displaying an unnecessary L plate - and, in the old days, it was sometimes felt wise to leave the L plates on for a while after passing your test, as a sort of warning, as the voluntary P plates are used now. N plates are compulsory for a two year period post-test in Ireland.

https://www.gov.uk/driving-lessons-learning-to-drive/using-l-and-p-plates - "You should take L plates off your vehicle when it’s not being used by a learner.", which is clearly true, but there is no mention of any sanction.

In Wales, you can use an L or a D plate, but it may be wise to be sure that you are the right side of the border with your D plate.

I see a photoshoped image designed to "fool" the masses into thinking it is one colour only to then cause a mass debate and social media up roar.
